They mentioned somewhere that they let you rent the jig but I dont know how you would do that. May have to call them and find out if it's true.

Any SKS aficionados here? A friend of mine is looking to buy one and asked me if there is anything he should look out for issues wise. The only things I could think of were mismatched parts, rust on the gun or in the bore.

get a threaded barrel vs a pinned barrel if possible. Russian SKS are best if you can find them cheap. Romanians are decent, chinese with pinned barrels are the cheapest but still work good. need to clean all the cosmoline off it if it has any. Some are new and packed, its everywhere.

Had no idea adding some grips would change a firearm this much.

Put some Hogue grips on my PPK this morning.

I'm wondering if there are any AK afficiandos in here? With the new law that is going into effect later this year here in Washington making buying any semi-auto rifles a horrendous pain in the ass, I am thinking I want to buy the last few semi rifles that I really can't live without before July. The M1A and M1 Garand I have a good handle on what I want but I also want an AK to round out my collection.

With there being so many different manufacturers and import countries I'm not really sure where to start or what to look for. I'm hoping for something in the under $750 realm that isn't a complete POS. I would prefer something that is more classic looking (wood furniture, slanted flash hider, maybe underfolder) as I have enough black plastic and aluminum guns already.

    Any help would be appreciated.

My WASR-10 has been solid. I paid $500 for it back in the day. It has everything you want except for being an underfolder. It has the unfortunate canted sights, which I'm 90% sure has been fixed on current models.

If you can find them under $800 Norinco's are great( still my favorite). Do not I repeat DO NOT buy Egytian Maadi--they are junk. Romanians are decent, I think Zastava might have a full size ak thats good. Also look at the Zastava Pap. Saigas are decent but need mods most of the time to move the trigger back to its normal position and adding a pistol grip. NHM91 is also good but probably harder to find. Of course the legit Russian are great also.

#7 looks decent, I dont know much about PSA but $600
