Tundra 5speed is the same transmission btw as tundras only came with a manual if it came with the v6.

This would likely be the 5-speed auto and necessary adapter plates.

I think my truck is running Autozone/Duralast lower control arms. It was 2016. I didn't know a damn thing about working on vehicles and a local shop said mine needed to be replaced since my truck "rode rough". I've been wheeling my truck and the front end is squeaking a ton now. Which I think I've narrowed down to the sway bar bushings and lower control arm bushings.

Ditch the sway bar completely. You'll be amazed at how much better the truck rides on the road and the flex and smoothness off road too. I haven't felt any adverse affects driving on the road without it either, just remember it isn't there and don't try driving the truck like it's a sports car and you'll be fine.

    Debatable :boink:

My bent LCA mounts was the worst part of the project. An extra set of hands definitely is helpful if things don't slide right in.

    Stuff. Also things.
Dude, I can’t imagine wrangling those LCAs and the washers from the Whitelines with banged up mounts. I struggled by myself with mounts that were still in decent shape.

I'm conflicted because I hear both sides of this debate on here all the time. I do want to take it off next time I go wheeling though. Going to go out and confirm all the noises are isolated to these two things right now.

I hear ya. I was conflicted too but finally said screw it and took it off. Major difference in the ride. So much smoother on the road and the front end actually flexes off road now. Even with the rack and RTT on the bed, it isn't crazy going around corners. You really won't regret it.

Ok... So getting ready to start the shift kit.

What kind of grease can I use to hold the check balls in place? I went to NAPA, couldn't find any "transmission assembly grease. "

This is a dab will do ya kind of thing, you're only keeping it from rolling off or falling for a moment. Most just use Vaseline, and I would too, but I suppose any light grease would be okay. Nothing with molybdenum tho. You don't hardly need any to get er done. It's gonna get diluted by loads of ATF (which is a detergent) in no time flat.

That's what I was thinking. Was thinking I'd just use some Super Lube... I have that handy.

Mine is the race shift kit. The HD2. The 1-2 is MUCH improved with new leafs. So maybe you should try that. The ride and every shift feels so much better. Toyota stock leafs are garbage.
