Now that is interesting. Lol. I like what they did there.

 

Unfortunately they machined the other side to hold the pipe. It's their long tube header flange.

After spending a little more time looking at the flange, the ports look ovular. This is correct? If so how will that affect using the schedule pipe?

 

More work that I want to fill in those cuts to have the carb side out. It is oval. Might need to do a fillet weld on the inside too to correct the flow and fill the gap. Top and bottom is a near perfect match.

 

Too close? Unless I make a new AC line I don't see another way.

Run it and see. Mine is close but I also wrapped the pipe in insulation.

Stock truck, it stays pretty much the same pressure.

Add boost and move it to your intake manifold it will lower fuel pressure at vacuum and raise with boost.
Makes it nice with larger injectors.

 

Not ideal but it'll work .. I hope. Cut all the factory mounting tabs off the factory box and cut some sheet metal below the tube coming through the fender wall. Things are close but the hood shuts and I don't think I'm pinching the flex tube. I'll wrap that in heat tape incase it does make contact with the hood and pushes it onto the turbo.

If it idles and drives fine, then it works.

 

I'd be concerned with that intake tube collapsing TBH. Otherwise, good job making it work.

Make sure you have a good turbo blanket on the hot side so you don't melt the intake there.

 

I'll only be running 4 or 5 psi for now. I don't think that would be enough to collapse it but I really don't know.

In time I'll either make that a stainless pipe or ideally make a custom airbox that will feed straight into the turbo from the fender.

 

It shouldn't collapse unless you are using a gnarly air filter. That ribbed design is for your boosting pleasure

 

I don't even want to know what you do to your truck when you think no one is looking...
