See all guages and misfires and data log. Kiwi3 obd with phone app for 100 bucks or wait on handhelds? What will they be able to do and how much will they cost?

 

If you buy the tune now and get the Tactrix adapter you can log now with Techstream. If you want "gauges", you can do that with Torque or several other apps for cheaper.

Handhelds will have all the current tunes loaded. You will be able to flash your truck with the file of your choice. I don't remember if it will do logging, but I don't think so.

This is the route I went this past week, I haven't done any logging on my truck yet due to weather. I have used it at work to scan and clear codes on customer vehicles. Super easy,plug it in and open the Torque app and it connects automatically,you don't even have to enter vehicle info.

This is the OBDII Bluetooth adapter I got off Amazon,so for $16.00 between the adapter and the app I am set.

I decided to keep the adapter at work along with my old phone and ordered another adapter to keep in my truck. Cheaper than spending a couple hundred to update/replace my Blue Point scan Tool

 

Those cheap blue OBD plugs on Amazon are excellent for the price. Likewise for the paid version of torque....

 

Okay OBD Fusion was well worth it
Number of PIDs and organization blows torque out of the water. Little spendy compared to torgue at 5 bucks and Fusion at 15 bucks for extended pids and app but I'm happy with it.

What all do you guys monitor besides misfir?

I bought that one back in 2015 and have been very happy with it.

 

Coolant temp, engine oil temp, trans pan and TC temp, TC lock/unlock, RPM, shift status, battery voltage, maf, front differential, O2 sensors, knock stuff, fuel flow, etc.

 

You cannot datalog with the handhelds from what I remember.

You have to buy an extra add-on to be able to log with the handheld if I remember correctly

 

do I need 12.10.019 or 12.20.024 techstream for 2018 Tacoma

What is the typical wait time to receive the tactrix dongle from Mat? I got teased with a tracking number on January 9th but it was never dropped off to UPS. Can’t wait to OVtune my truck!
