Hello everyone! I’m needing a little of help & advice! Just purchased the TRD Pro Suspension yesterday! Two shocks up front & rear for $150! YES You read that right!
My truck is a 2018 TRD OR DCSB!

I do feel confident to swap it myself, but will take it to a shop for good measure. I have a few questions I hope some of you could answer. Or give me advice?

Can the suspension just be swapped?

Will I need longer break lines up front?

Will stock control arms need to be or are they HIGHLY recommended to be replaced?

I don’t do any crazy off roading, or crawling, just moderate trails!

Will I need to purchase new hardware? Or will existing hardware be fine?

    & who has done it?

    Anything else I should know?

    Thank you all!

I know picture below only shows front, but have rears as well!

Longer break lines not needed. All stock stuff should be fine. Those shocks don’t have much travel so you aren’t extending anything.

I run extended shocks and the lines were just a smidge (and I mean stretching the line smidge) short at full droop

...how did you get those shocks so cheap? You weren’t by chance in a factory with all the workers dressed like Santa and his elves right?

(If you’ve seen the movie it probably makes more sense - they make knock off toys)

    Awesome!

Shocks should swap right in. You could probably do it all yourself easy.

Direct swap, should be about a two beer job with how new and corrosion free the truck is.

Caster camber was fine , mine needed a small toe adjustment.

Easy swap. The UCA's from the Pro are the same... only thing you'll need is the parking brake spacer for the passenger side.

    Edit:
    20180126_142918.jpg

Did the swap myself. Let me know if you have any questions.

I did not follow the directions I did not touch the LCA, just the UCA ball joint, sway bar. Super easy 4 hours total front and back with a few beer breaks for pics.

Having done it both ways... I agree, disconnecting the UCA from the spindle was much easier.

That’s how I felt for the longest, I saw a guy pull up to work in a TRD PRO & asked him if he had the OEM wheels and tires because that’s what I’m looking for, and he said no I sold the set for $400! Then he mentioned actually I have the PRO suspension and he said well I’ll take $150 for it! I said deal & he has ICON 6” with 35” so he had NO need for it it was just sitting there!

    Pretty substantial. For $150... I don't think you'll find a better mod.

Handles much better , no brake dive and will actually corner now. More planted solid feel.

Negatives for me are these soak up larger bumps but you will still feel smaller bumps. And once you stop if you roll forward and brake again you get a little bounce or rocking, hard to explain.

I don’t regret doing it at all.
