I went to the new Russian River Brew Co. location in Windsor on Tuesday. The line to get in was not half bad given what lines for Pliny The Younger looked like in the past.

Really nicely built cement TRD Pro in the lot. ARB awning. Didn't get too much of a look at the rest of it, because it was a little far from the line to get in and my mind was focused on one thing only. Beer at 10:30 a.m.!!

Side note: The newest hazy IPA RRBC is offering is really good. It's called Mind Circus.

I haven't been yet though the new RR is about a mile away from my office. But I typically wait until one of the local bars gets a keg rather than dealing with the bigger crowds at RR.

Nice to have the load off the 4th St. office now. Perhaps I won't mind the walk and a shorter wait.

The surly bartender crew at 4th St will always be the best. The Windsor location is very "polished"

I don’t understand people waiting in line for hours for a taste. I walked in the back door at the downtown location and had my first Younger within 5 minutes.

It’s fine, something I’d drink with dinner, but I can’t imagine waiting an hour or more for what I drank. For my taste buds it isn’t remotely that good.

Fun experience and I’m glad I had VIP access, but not something I’d bother doing again.

The last few years I've gotten a couple half pints of Younger at Barley and Hops in Occidental. I drove past the line in front of 4th street this afternoon and thought "DUMMIES."

    Dummies?

It’s fun. Talking and joking with strangers. That’s all. It’s not like standing at line st the DMV.

Just cuzyou don’t think it’s fun; doesn’t make them dummies.

    True.

But for some. Standing in line with some great friends is a blast.

Last year I was behind a bunch of ladies that just ran a half marathon. They stretched out the entire time in line. Wearing tights. Visually, it was amazing.

They were fun and joked with everyone.

    It’s world famous.

People come for their annual vacation to stand outside in the weather for 2-6 hrs.

It’s good beer and definitely an event. The crowds are large and social, as you’d probably expect for people all standing in line for beer.

It’s a lot of fun if you want it to be, and really even if you don’t.

Like @aficianado eluded to, you’d have to be in a pretty shitty mood to not stay entertained in line.

My buddy is a brewer in Windsor and I hear that’s a nice place. I’ll probably try lunch or dinner there.

I’d rather stand in line for beer instead of some Black Friday sale OR a new smart phone release. :)

But hell; there an ass for every seat.

Yeah sorry, no judgement on my end at all. Like everyone else has said, it's a world famous beer event in our backyard, pretty cool.

The Bistro in Hayward, my watering hole, had it last week, again. Vic the owner had something to do with its creation and so he gets a couple kegs every year. $9 bucks for an 8 oz pour but, after a couple you don't care anymore. It's said that RR makes it at a loss and actually publishes the recipe online. You know what? It's double and triple ipa season so soak it up!

Had it last night. Very good. Had that sweet bitter thing going big time.

I really want to try BIG CHICKEN from Henhouse.
