Pickle juice? That doesn’t sound appealing. After i got home I started searching online reviews and the common theme was, if you see it buy it. It was weighing on me, called the store and they had a bottle left. Went back and grabbed it. Not sure when ill open it

Post #2874 is another poster who had the same pickle experience @BearfootGypsie. I truly hope you don't....

I really like pot still. I don't notice the dill notes but love pickles so it wouldn't bother me if I did. I didn't like it as much when I first opened it but after it breathed for a while I liked it much more. Hope you enjoy it.

I didn't get any dill taste and neither did any one I gave a pour. Two said if I come across it again to pick them up a bottle.

I’m a so-called Ambassador and the barrel with my name (and a few others) is aged out. (On MM website there’s a lambkins for ‘be an ambassador ‘. It’s free do it. )

More pot still for y’all! I had a friend who could taste the dill in it but whose to say there final product isn’t varied in some way batch to batch. From what I’ve read it is supposedly a “small batch bourbon” and Willett is sourcing the stuff and blending it for the pot still from another KY distiller or multiple distillers(very common occurrence).

Nice little spread tonight. Little Book Chapter 2 is probably the best of the bunch. That gin barrel finished limited edition High West Double Rye was excellent, though. Hate that it might be the only bottle I'll get my hands on. The juniper really stands out on the nose and palate, if not the finish. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof B518 is super high proof, but remarkably subtle in every aspect. Delicious.

Also let my brother in law finish a bottle of Glenfarclas 15. That age is only available overseas and it's probably the best one they make.

    Fortunately I have a backup bottle ;).

Did that bottle run $77?!?! Is that the 1.75?

I think it’s 35-40 around here for the small bottle.

Had a great night with some interesting flights!

First a new staple against some old dusties... 1986 and 1994 bottles... that Turkey is wonderful.
    20190209_161410.jpg

Then had some hickory charcoal funk and some barrel proof bourbon to wake up the senses
    20190209_164753.jpg

    An intermission for something special...
    20190209_172541.jpg

Barrel proof flight fun. I wish I was taking this EHT home with me and I wish I had bought two of the Arran barrel picks.
    20190209_185552.jpg

Totally drunk-talked my buddy into a Stagg flight... 2018 vs Jr. batch 11 vs. 2017... I ranked them 2017, Jr., 2018.
    20190209_230813.jpg

Also had some other shit I can't remember because I'm feeling all of these delicious barrel proof whiskies... cheers!

I was sitting all alone at the house yesterday evening while the wife was at work. Thought I'd open this 1.75L bottle of Eagle Rare.
This is what it looked like an hour later.

Looked for a buddy of mine a bottle of Willett at a couple local stores yesterday afternoon. None to be found. :(

Saw these two today and briefly thought about it. Got on my phone to do a little research (the Baller was $70, so research was warranted) and decided not to get either. Funky came up in several reviews of the Baller.

"Explained as “a California take on the Japanese spin on Scotch whisky,“I’m hard pressed to imagine another spirit out there as meta as this one. The Baller Whiskey is a single malt made with American barley. At eight years old, the spirit saw three to four years in ex-bourbon and French oak, and then the rest of its life in casks seasoned with house-made umeshu (Japanese plum wine). The liquid was filtered through maple charcoal, and bottled at 47% ABV."
