Just bought a 2019 Tacoma in Quicksand color and am having chocolate brown leather seats installed. The interior door panels are mostly black but have what looks to be a snap-in insert meant to match or go with the body color... These panels on my truck look almost orange to me at least in bad light. I have seen brown leather seats on certain Tacoma trucks and the panels on these are a nice matching brown, not tan, and I'd like to be able to replace mine with brown inserts on the door panels...

Does anyone have info on how/where to get this done ? See the pic below to get an idea of what I mean/want

Is that Katskin leather? An upholstery shop might be able to match if it is.

If I remember right there is another thread talking about the door panels and they aren't a insert and you'd have to swap the door panels.

As I remember from another thread that panel is sort of permanently mounted from behind.

That color is a limited trim model. I looked at one a few weeks ago. In Florida if you don't tint your glass it burns your ass.

Remove the door panel, turn it over. You will see that trim is held on with melted over plastic. Using a blade you can cut the tips off of the melted plastic. The panel will then come off and you can recover it.

To put it back on, just use a semi flexible glue and put it on the plastic posts. Push it all together and clamp it together.

Add some sound deadening mat(self adhesive kind) to the back of the panel to prevent any noise from any bad seems in the glue.

My new truck came with red door and dash panels...on a dark gray truck.

Took the truck to a upholstery shop and had them recovered for $267.

Darn I would have traded you my panels and dash for yours. My black interior is so bland! I really wanted the red door cards but OR package only came in grey with black cards. Did the shop let you keep the red materials? I’m interested to know if they just covered over it. I am looking around to see if I can find someone with a double cab that has the brown tan door cards to trade.

I guess I could have kept the red material, but didn't.

I kept the red for almost a week seeing if I could get use to it. Wasn't happening...I guess I like bland.
