42k for a 2019 Ford Ranger? WOW

Went to the Beyer Ford to pick up a work truck from service, while waiting went to check out the new pickup’s lined up. Ford prices are nuts. 42k for a Ranger, 85k for a Raptor, 38k + for a F150 even more for the 250 and 350 series and people complain about the Tacoma’s.

I thought the Ranger was going to compete with the Tacoma? I haven’t purchased a new Tacoma lately (2015) but WOW that a ton of cash for a pickup truck.

 

My 2019 TRD OR DCSB 4WD with Tech and Prem MSRP was $41.2k, doesnt seem out of the question. There was probably markup on the Raptor, my Dad paid $72k for his with an MSRP of $74k but the dealer did have a $5k markup to $79k, Dad wasnt having any of that.

 

That just seems crazy for a pickup truck. Hope my 15 last a long time. I don’t think I could sign the paperwork on a 85k pickup.

Welcome to 2019. $42k is crazy but people are buying them.

 

Guess so, have not really been looking at the prices on new trucks lately, and I thought 23k was a lot when I purchased my 03 Tacoma. But I was much younger then.

 

They are around $37-38K decently equipped in this area (Atlanta)

At $42k it must have been pretty well equipped.

Most any loaded mid-size truck is going to MSRP in that ballpark.

 

This is what happens when customers want all the latest gadgets and eletronics. It all ends on a vehicles in dealer lots.. It adds to the sticker price. If you want something more basic, you gotta special order it. But even that only goes so far. l miss the days of more basic trucks. Because I can't aford these prices.

 

I’m sorry, I love my truck but there’s no Tacoma from the factory worth $40,000+! Just my opinion but damn, shits getting ridiculous. But on the other hand the Ranch truck (2019 F350 Lariat) was $72,000 so I guess it can always be worse. Just seems unreal that 20-25 years ago you could buy a house for what these Full size trucks are costing.

 

Don’t talk about house prices... Hard to find a piece of grass for $42k these days

 

For $40k+ it needs to do a heck of a lot better at being a truck. 25% more can get you something capable of towing 35k lb.

 

Yeah tell me about it, here in TX the hordes of In-N-Out’ers moving in from Cali have fucked the market all up.

 

That variable rate loan will come back and bite you.

 

Prices for everything is nuts, paid $37,000.00 for my loaded Sport. Paid $6700.00 for my 78 International Scout. My wages have not done the same, I’m feeling something being incerted where the sun don’t shine.

 

Years ago we paid normal interest rates which cut down on the amount of what l purchased. Now, with very low interest rates. People pay a lot more for stuff than they normally would. If financing rates went up even a few percent, people would be screwed. They'd loose everything. . There's a whole generation that thinks these interest rates are normal. .

 

As long as there are 4x4 tacomas available for under $30k out-the-door I'm a happy camper... not that I'll be needing another one anytime soon.

 

45K for a Lariat Ranger local here, but that is a loaded truck. Seems about average price now days. Hopefully my 09 keeps on trucking for many more years.
