Front Door speaker replacement (7" non JBL system)

I'm looking for a direct replacement for factory speakers.

I'm not an audiophile but like good sound. Which would you get from these for direct drop in replacement?

Kenwood's have a ton of positive reviews, but I know Pioneers are good as well.

Those all seem cheap but I've not looked into audio much yet as I'm still trying to build my suspension system. Does ur setup have a separate tweeter in the door already? If so I'd go for a single midrange without a tweeter in it

I wouldn't suggest just a simple speaker swap with any of those (though they would work fine)... I believe your stock speaker size is a 6x9" speaker, so if you're looking for a simple swap of the main woofer, I would say just get yourself a 6x9 instead.

If you want better sound, I would highly suggest getting a set of component speakers instead, though they won't function up to top levels until you add in an amplifier. And don't forget that your system will only sound as good as your weakest link, so after replacing your speakers, that's your headunit

 

Wow, those speakers may actually be worse then the factory ones. My recommendation is to not even bother unless it's a clear upgrade. Your factory ones will be covered under bumper-to-bumper warranty should you blow them out, etc.

Probably the cheapest priced speakers I'd consider are the Alpine SPR-60C. They should be a pretty simple pop-in DIY install. But has been said, next it'll be adding a new head unit and an amp(s). Some better speaker wires also a must. So, might want to grab some really good speakers right off?

Don't take the interior of your brand new truck apart. Leave it alone. They never go back together again like they do from factory. You'll have rattles and broken or missing clips and damaged door panel lining down the road. Yes even when I've paid reputable shops money to do this it's never quite the same.

 

Polk db's (marine proof) were my go to on my jeep. crutchfield has a whole speaker kit for the 16 taco. ~$300 i think. I plan on swapping them all out in the future, and add an amp as well.

 

I recently installed a Polk Audio DB6501 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component System in my 2015 access cab and am very pleased. I have no plans to change the head-unit.

Sounds like someone didnt know what they were doing then. I have done my own audio in numerous cars with no damage, rattles, etc.

That being said - I would go with a component system such as Alpine or Infinity if you want to keep costs down... otherwise I like Focal's.

 

Anything is an upgrade to factory.

 

For real, a styrofoam cup is better than OEM.
