Would I need a VIN# if I told them I was purchasing as a gift for my brother who broke his? For an OEM grille.

It'll work fine until some snow or dirt gets caught in the honeycomb.

No, it's not really needed... It just makes for a cleaner install because the cable routes in an area that is hidden when looking through the front.
If you're buying an oem grill and garnish, I'd spend the extra ~$20 to make it all right.

I would definitely recommend the purchase of the garnish especially this time of year when roads are breaking up. I wouldn't want to risk a rock smashing into the radar myself.

I used the org wiring harness on my oem pro grill, I think it worked fine and can't really see it.

My Pro grille should be in on Tuesday. Already purchased the garnish for it. Can’t wait to get it install. Haven’t seen any other Tacos around here with the Pro grille.

Good move getting the garnish. It's a safety system that can apply the brakes... Best to have it working 100%.

Just ordered an OEM from Pinehurst Toyota because they had the most reasonable shipping.

Just swapped out my grill today. Took about an hour and 15 minutes. I ended up only breaking 3 tabs. God that was annoying. Totally worth the effort. Believe it or not my truck in the picture below is Calvary Blue. It looks grey all washed out like that. Haha Consequently now I have to post a TRD Sport Grill for sale...

I did mine yesterday and am getting the errors. I have ordered the garnish. I have heard from a few places the error goes away after a while. Living in Florida where it rains a lot it was also stated that water build up on the radar can cause it to error out as well. Hopefully the garnish keeps everything happy.

I've had non-stop snow and rain happening since I put mine on with the garnish yesterday (you can see it raining in the picture I posted above) and I have not had a single error. I bet the garnish will solve your problems.

Edit: No errors and this is what my grill looks like

Great pictoral guide, just did my install with an OEM pro grille and garnish on my late-2018 build trd or.

Some things have aparently changed, so I wanted to point them out regarding my experience:
    1) only the top two screws and the top two rivets require removal. Everything lower is snap-in component stuff.
    2) removed all TSS wire stand-offs and reclamped them to the wires with the mounts located in different places on the pro grille back side. Well hidden and no need for extension.
    3) Taking care to not break the original OR grille and chrome surround tabs is absolutely impossible. I used a cut to strips credit card as guides and still managed to snap all but three tabs. My recycle bin now has a damaged OR grille inside.

Thanks again for the thread, it was definitely beneficial!

Can anyone with an OEM pro grille installed show me some side profile shots? I double-checked the clips are all fully inserted, but I feel like my grille is sticking out way further than the images I am seeing on this thread. Need some reassurance here!
