Entune Premium Issues - Random Restart - 2nd Radio (1st replaced)

Mine still doing it too. Toyota denied lemon law claim, and basically told me no fix in sight. Frustrating experience to say the least

 

Yeah I've priced out a replacement aftermarket system, just need to make the money for it....disappointing b/c the head unit has so much potential. If you got one that works fine, the great, it's rare, if not, tough luck...sorry, we're in the same boat!

 

Update: Still happens atleast once a week...will be waiting for either an Entune 3.0/Apple Carplay upgrade or switching out the shitty headunit.

 

There’s supposed to be an update coming Nov 13 not sure what it fixes but I got an email on it

 

I am having this issue as well (2016 with JBL). Mine is when I am listening to bluetooth audio and I either receive/make a call, or activate siri. I had an iPhone 8 and the problems started when I got that a year ago. Toyota did 2 software updates that did not resolve the issue. About 2 months ago, the dealer replaced the unit. I had no issues with the unit and everything seemed to be fixed. I upgraded to a new iPhoneXs (iOS 12.0.1) and it is like poltergeist... it's back .... The dealer reproduced my issue so when I am in next I will ask them about it and see if they will suggest a fix . It is definitely annoying but this is what I call a 1st world problem.

 

This happens to me too. iPhone XS Max. 19 Pro non JBL.

 

I removed social characters (emojis) from 2 of my 400 contacts. Will report back.

 

Still happening... this is ridiculous.

 

2016 with JBL package has done it multiple times the past 3 days. For me it seems to do it when my iPhone 8 is directly plugged into the USB port, but not when I’m playing music when using Bluetooth. Each time it has happened I’ve heard the song skip & then the whole display blacks out & resets twice. Reading this thread I assume there’s no real fix to the issue...


Update: Jinxed myself, just occurred on Bluetooth as well!

 

2017 SR AC here and it reboots daily. Connect via Bluetooth to stereo. Initiate Siri on phone, wait for engine to catch up and show mic on screen, hit cancel on screen twice.. crash and reboot

 

I recently downloaded the Entune system update from here:

You have to put it on a USB drive and then load it, took about 10 minutes or so. Since I did that update I have not had a random reboot, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed this fixed it.

 

Glad that worked for ya. The update for mine came out 3 months before I bought my truck new from the dealer

 

Dumb question, but did you verify the software on your radio is same version or newer than this update? Mine was updated at one point after this update was released as well when I installed a new map update, but that was still and earlier version that the one on the site.

 

The latest update I see from that link is dated: Sep 08 2017?

 

Yep, that's the one I installed, it was newer that what I had, even with the update from my 2018 SD card, and so far so good.

I want to throw this radio into a river. My “solution” is to use Siri from my watch instead.

 

Reviving this thread. This morning I experienced the restart issue over and over on my HU, all the way to work. Never had this problem before, I have an iPhone X with the latest iOS update 13.1.2. I did this update about 3 weeks ago and no problems until now. Has anyone found a solution for this issue?
