This is the sticker with all the stuff it came with. Then I got to $38,473. I don’t think it’s that bad?

Yea I got a quote from freeman and I’ve tried showing that to other dealers but they won’t touch it. They say it has to be bait and switch. They also say it’s too good of a deal and I should go and buy from them if it’s that cheap. Confusing really because they sound like they don’t need the business lol Maybe once the end of the month rolls around they’ll be willing to deal?

Anyway it’s looking more and more like I’ll have to make the 7 hour drive to Freeman’s. Now if only they’ll get magnetic grey in stock. They only have cement right now in the configuration I want.

I also hit up Cody at Tustin Toyota. I hear he’s supposed to be good.

So I’m a different state and ended up doing it and having a really fun trip but I tried to use it here locally. 1 said same on bait and it’s not real,2 said I was a liar, 3 said hey I can’t do that and if that’s the real price go for it and if not here is the best I can do. I respected the last one on that but I went over got it and it was 100% as they said. Then had a really fun rod trip home stopping off here and there. Hit the red woods, got some good sushi, visited my brother. It was awesome.

Found this in the glove box since it was a dealer transfer and had title too...

Maybe this can help someone negotiate.

Get a one way flight to SF and drive it home. F the local dealers if they don’t want your money. Freeman is legit, tons of members here have bought from them.

Yea I think I might just buy from Freeman and then show the other dealers what I paid.....since they seem to believe the freeman deal isn’t real.....or at least they want me to believe that.

I would tell them to shove that $799 Admin Fee where the sun does not shine. That is pure padding the deal.

In DFW area call the internet sales number at Grapevine Toyota- AFTER you know the exact build you want and ask to speak to Curtis Cho. You will have a deal in 5-10min. No haggling- tell him (be reasonable) what you're wanting to pay. You can actually put your money down over the phone and when it comes in, go sign the papers and drive away. He's a straight shooter.

Grapevine Toyota sucks. They are literally the worst dealer in Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Just got back from the dealer for the second time. Huge fiasco.

Bought my ‘19 Tacoma TRD OR DCLB last night, however when they were assessing my trade, they forgot to give me my house keys at the end of the night, rendering me locked out of my house. Had to call a locksmith, dealer is reimbursing charges.

Also, on my contract, they put the wrong odometer reading (contract said 15mi, actual was 168mi). We didn’t even notice until we were driving home. Whether it was an honest mistake or malicious, that’s material misrepresentation on their part, ergo contract null and void. I pitched such a fit over their ineptness, even threatened to leave a bad review and take my business to a South Carolina dealer (after they defiantly said they’d give me my trade-in back and have me on my way).

TL;DR — I managed to get another $4000 off my bottom line. Yesterday, I was at $43,000 out the door. Today, I’m at $39,000 out the door.

Lesson learned: don’t go to buy a car when you’re tired, be more thorough/questioning going through contracts/the vehicle, and challenge everything.

Easier to deal on manuals vs AT? Thinking about trading in my 2nd gen. Got my eye on a 19 DCSB in Cement with the six speed.

They really are. Personally, this was my first new vehicle purchase ever. Always bought used. But I figure I'll have this thing forever, the way Toyota runs.

Yea, me too. They are the closest dealer to me. I have tried to purchase three different Toyotas from them but they were consistently unprofessional time wasters.

I leased mines. This year, if I get my transfer to a closer plant to my house,3 miles to be exact, when the lease is up I am going used. I love Toyota and Honda, but they seem to be slipping on quality. Still wouldn't buy anything else.

I had a less than stellar experience with Grapevine Toyota back when I bought my 2012 Prerunner. They offered a little discount from list price but it wasn't much. The salesman called me almost every day to see if I changed my mind, but no additional discount. And this was after we had purchased a Camry a month earlier. I went to Freeman and bought the exact same truck for $2500 less and it was a very easy and non confrontational experience. I've since bought two Tacomas and an Avalon and never even considered Grapevine Toyota.
