Michelin LTX AT2s installed

thanks for all the help and feedback. I'm very pleased with the Michelin LTX AT2s on my TRD OR...Toyota rep actually told me that Toyota puts these tires on the Tundra TRD pro oddly enough. They are awesome. Much more grip and control than the stock goodyears.

I've been looking at these to replace my wildpeaks....just now sure how'd they look on SCS wheels.

 

Looks good OP. Stock size? Also, what were your primary reasons for selecting the LTX AT2s? Highway travel? MPG?

 

they run the Highway better than All season tires IMO

 

I think you'll like the look. I went with stock size and my favorite part of the look is the "plumpness" lol and there's like little "teeth" on the outer edge that give it a streamlined and agressive, yet practical look.

 

Yes, stock size. I had multiple stock tires fail a road force balance test and toyota replaced them. They let me choose from their lineup. Michelins have a great warranty (70k I think) and overall good ratings. I wanted something agressive enough to handl moderate off roading in the appalachian mountains (soil and some rock) but also give me comfort and good performance on highways.

 

stock size is best for performance and economy especially on a daily driver, those tires can do it all off and on road

 

If these weren't pricey tires, I would run them on my sport. I tend to stick to my favorite mid- grade brand Toyos

 

Yes, my situation very unique, but I would vouch for these for anyone in the market for new tires.

 

My company sells them and I have nothing but good things to say about them.
I guess they could be slightly more aggressive looking? Some customers are turned off by how tame they look compared to the competition. But damn, you cant argue with their performance on and off road and the ride comfort they provide.

 

they aren't a seriously knobby AT tire but are a good fit for peeps that want a little more aggressive tire for a TRD offroad truck

 

I ran them on my Ranger for many years ... great tires!

 

My dad has them on his truck and likes them.

 

Excellent functional tires. Tough and long life. Sharp lava rock on back roads in Hawaii doesn't tear them up. Great for mostly pavement with some dirt roads mixed in, where you want a compound tough enough to avoid most blowouts and flats. Very civilized. We run 17's on our Mercedes GLK.

 

Good all around option. Will likely pick up a set myself for my LX.

I've had these tires on three Ram Hemis and three Tacomas. Great all around on/off road tires.

 

My wife bought a Ford Fusion that carried a tires for life deal, it now with 246,000 on it. Every time the dealer replaces the tires they put Michelins on it. Imagine that: dealer pays for top-end tires, then gives them away. I happen to strike up a conversation with the GM there while waiting one time and asked why if they have to foot the bill do they always put on Michelins. He replied that they had been doing tires for life for a long time and had kept track of their cost per mile on the cars. He said the Michelins actually saved them money due to them having the lowest cost per mile. In the lot sizes that they buy them in Michelin's dealer pricing is comparable to most other tires they used in this program...that the price we consumers pay for Michelins are higher because of successful product positioning: he said we as consumers have been conditioned to expect to pay more for Michelins.

 

You’re going to love the AT2’s. They last an exceptionally long time. Good choice!
