Imagine that, the MT guys making yet another thread about how their transmission is better and why you should buy one.

A guy got new car this week at work. He was excited to show it off so a couple of us went out to see it at lunch. As we got closer and I asked, do you have remote start? He said no. Then we all realized he left it running. He got to work about 7am and we went out around noon. It ran 5 hours straight.

Maybe it's coming back due to popular demand.

I hope someone posts a how to/review thread swap on these! If there are bright and throw a tiny bit further then stock, it would be awesome and affordable upgrade for most of us.

Have 365k on my current Avalon. Was planning on buying a new Tacoma in March but now I'll wait until August. Should only be an other 10k. Still runs like a top. Never a problem at all. That's why I would be very hesitant to look at the Jeep/GM/Ford.

Our Highlander has the push button. Can't explain why exactly but it is really nice. Nice to not have to pull out and fumble with a key when it's cold. Nice to always leave in my pocket. Really nice that my wife doesn't have to pull it out of her purse. She'll never buy another car without it.

I know us MT users tend to get pretentious/defensive, but if anything in this thread I'm complaining that we don't get the goodies like the AT! I would love to have the push button start/keyless entry and remote start if that is coming as well. I don't think it will be enough to pull me away from my MT, but is enough to give me pause.

The one on the bottom is an Off Road or Pro, and the one on top is a different model.

OR and Pro use electric brake booster, this is for more accurate brake application and allows for the offroad modes, such as crawl control and a-trac.

The SR5, Sport, and Limited use the vacuum brake booster, more traditional style brake booster that's been around for ages. Much cheaper to produce. They also have a seperate ABS brake pump which is located on the passenger fender, and is absent on OR/Pro models.

I learned a few days ago that the Off Road “4x2” also has the vacuum system. The electronic system is only on the Off Road “4x4” and Pro.
