I'm sorry. I'm a total deadbeat and never came back to check on this thread.

I don't have a specific trip report but I think it we did sections 2 and 3 of the WABDR. Great drives overall but the last section we did, right before it dropped into Wenatchee should have been closed. The road had been washed out in a rock slide and there was no notice of that until after you have already driven 3-4 hours off-road. So we saw the rock slide, assessed it, and ended up driving through it. Then we get about 200' past the slide and see signs saying closed to vehicles because it was unsafe for travel.

Apparently the Forest Service has no idea that by definition a road goes two places and signs should be placed on both ends, because that was the second situation like this we had on the trip.

Overall the sections we did we're awesome and I highly recommend doing the WABDR if you are in the area.

Personally, short bed looks meaner. Longer nose, shorter ass end. Reminds me of the "70 cuda" I used to have. Love that style. Besides not much in the way of extra cargo space, plus after market products cost more. Just my 2 cents.

Besides an additional $10 for a bed mat, what else costs more?

Bed covers, bed racks, exhaust systems...
Don't get me wrong, I Like ALL Tacos, personally I just like the shorter beds better. That's all I meant.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Both short beds and long beds look good and each serves their owners needs. I like them both but needed a long bed. :hattip:

Ouch! I paid $1021 shipped from the Amazon for 5 tires -- so, roughly just $204 USD per tire. (which would currently be about $270 CDN, I think?)

Nail on the head right here. As much as I love the extra space in my long bed, the fact that it's also a double cab means I really gotta watch those turns. I came from having a corvette lol, and the wheelbase is uhh...not the same...

The short beds I think definitely offer a better platform for offroad. The dclb has such about a foot longer frame I think, which in my mind at least makes me think it'll be more prone to bending/twisting with abuse over time. But I still wouldn't trade my dclb for the world!! Love the back seats! Love sleeping in my bed and having a toolbox and still room for plenty of stuff left over!!

Pretty much stock.. except for the A.R.E cap. Soon I will be adding dual battery, roof rack, some bed accessories.
Hitting the trails with this bad boy! So far only upgrades is the A.R.E CX cap and CB radio.
