Bummer, was hoping to talk about your new project, and what you learned from old to new.

If i can make it at least you won't be alone. It is nice to know that I'm not the only one to partake on occasion.

Being a sunday is what is killing this for me. I would want to stay because it is a 4 1/2 hr drive one way. I guess i could take Monday off, and make the 30 min drive to bs once you got home. I'll play this by ear, but put a reminder in my phone just in case.

Yeah working 2 jobs make my schedule pretty tough as well. I need to start taking some time for myself once in a while though, and I think events like this are perfect. It would also give me a reason to explore the other side of the state. Just need to remember to bring the fishing stuff, trout should be in then. Actually spring gobbler may be in by then, but not on Sunday.

I bummed a cigarette from my bud in between my pipe bowls while I was there. They didn't say anything about the ciggie or the pipe. Buddy was smoking a cigar and not smoking cigarettes so I don't know if they just missed me smoking one cigarette or if they allow it. But they didn't say anything about the pipe so I'm guessing they are OK with any combustible baccy product. But they do sell pipe tobacco and pipes there, so maybe that's why they didn't care about the pipe.

You guys have picked two great weekends to chose from. The Eta meteor showers are starting mid April to the end of May. There is usually about 30 meteors per hour at peak which will be 5/5, 5/6, and 5/7. It's a dark crescent moon that weekend so the low light will help spot shooting stars. It's cool just seeing a meteor shoot by every 1 or two minutes. But there should be good strikes the week before and the week after as well. It'll be a nice treat if anyone decides to camp out in the state forest. They'll be shooting out of the Aquarius constellation. turn your chairs that way and just look up.

Wife and I will be out in the woods both weekends. We'll have to try and stop by, meet some people!

April's to May's a great time for meteor showers. Lyrid (April 19-25 every year) and Eta coincide so you are likely to see some shooting stars.

We also try to get out end of July to Mid august. Delta meteor showers and Perseid meteor showers start in Mid July to Late August. Delta shooting out of Aquarius constellation and Perseid shooting out of Perseus constellation. Only thing you have to do is look at the lunar cycle to pick a night to camp out that's not a full moon so you can actually see the shooting stars. we always hit up state forests. commercial sites have too much ambient light and too many people driving to the bathroom with their headlights to see anything.

I'm not an astronomy person, we've just been doing it every year for over a decade now.

I was fortunate to catch a few good ones when I was out west in Moab back in 2016. I know a good place to camp up in the boonies above Hamburg so I many just shoot up there the night before.

There’s still light pollution up there but it’s not nearly as bad as it is at home. I’m too close to Philly. :(
