False! The Lightning and SRT 10 trucks sold very well. Chevy SS, meh. that was a piece of shit from the jump.

I wouldn't want a Tacoma as a "performance" truck, but a regular cab Tundra with anything 5.7 or larger under the hood and supercharged...HELLS YEAH!

The Ford lightning sold less than 30,000 for the second generation. The srt-10, less than 9000.

Idk if I'd consider those numbers in the "sold very well" category

considering the price of those, id say they did ok...both of those trucks were pretty bad ass in stock form. add a few mods and they became monsters.

I'm not trying to replicate a sports car's performance with any pickup truck, but I like the idea of a true "sport" trim option. Toyota knows their marketing better than I do of course, but I think it'd be a nice little lineup if the TRD Off Road had extra parts geared towards off road usage and the TRD Sport had a horsepower bump and a more on-road tuned suspension. Something like 350hp would be fun on this platform. Not everyone who buys a truck does so to drive off road, and just like people pay more for the TRD Pro and Limited because they have things some people want, I bet a horsepower enhanced TRD Sport would sell pretty darn well too. I'd be a buyer.

SRT-10: Over the 3-year lifespan of this truck, 9,527 Dodge Ram SRT-10s were manufactured. each one sold or loaned out for testing.

2nd Gen Lightning: A total of 28,124 Lightnings were built from 1999-2004. each one sold or loaned out for testing.

I get a "Sport" truck isn't the thing of this forum. But come on guys, why berate someone for liking something different?

Sure, everyone should ABSOLUTELEY be free to prefer one type of vehicle and performance level over another. I just watched a show where they customize the shit out of anything for any reason. The OP needs to put up the cash for his dream truck. I don't think Toyota is inclined to fulfill his fantasy, nor should they waste their resources for a tiny niche vehicle.

I mean. I think the Ford Raptor is all the performance that I need. I think the Toyota should do something like that.
