Stabbed one of those Twin Spoolers into an Austin Healey Sprite Bugeye. I'll leave it at that.

 

Those engines are bizarre. I was always struck by how small they are.

You can buzz'em to some Crazy Engine Speeds, did you know Suzuki made a Rotory bike once?

 

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market.

OE = Original Equipment (Mazda)

Long block = in a traditional piston engine, the block, crank, pistons and heads are already installed.

Short block = block with crank and pistons only.

The 13b rotary engine doesn't have pistons or heads per say. But because this engine was shipped with it's internals installed, it's considered a long block

 

The one we pulled was tweaked to 300 hp....out of 1.3 liters.

The one going in will have the same upgrades removed from old engine and installed on it.

Car is made entirely of aluminium and only weighs 2700 lbs. Do the math on that one.

This vintage is getting very difficult to find. It's a '93. He's the 2nd owner. He bought it from the original owner in 1995
