A little bit of yoga, stretching, foam roller, hot tub, and then an ice bath for my feet.
Now a beer to top off recovery day.

I may get a message later.

    Cheat meal?
    No.
    I never cheat.

No weight at all. Just controlled movements. No difference than taking a kneel. Just on one leg rather than both

Try interval training instead of just running or jogging.

Those two things are like polar oposites lol
    Pick one.

Running is a lot like lifting in the sense weekly volume is key.

Never posted in here before but I follow along.

I do 5-10 OCRs a year from 3 miles to ~18 miles in length. Interval training for these types of events are the most bang for your buck. If you do a Spartan and are in an Open heat, you will be waiting at obstacles due to bottlenecks. That means you will be running at max a mile then waiting a few minutes to do the obstacle, rinse and repeat.

For a 10 mile OCR you don't actually need to run more than 5 miles in training, if your goal is just to finish it. Now if your goals are certain times/places, then you really need to mix in interval training with a one or two longer (slower) endurance training sessions a week.

When I'm training for Spartans my endurance sessions are typically 8-15 mile runs (depending on how long the event is) and at every mile marker I get down and do 60 burpees.

Yes but marathons are 26.2 miles of straight running vs. shit like tough mudders are 13.1 miles of pure hell and obsticles. Different types of training.

I get the endurance part I was just dropping the volume suggestion because a lot of runners forget about it.
Volume is what makes the difference between finishing a race and enjoying the race haha.

I’m trying to get back into running. I really miss it. Unsure if my foot can handle what I used to do.

FWIW I hate cardio other than hitting the heavy bag and rowing.

Walking for about an hour at a speed of 4.0MPH will burn roughly the same amount of calories you burned running for 20 mins.

You lose some of the cardiovascular health benefits and “after burn” but it’s much easier on my joints and still is something.
