That picture is much steadier than I'd have expected, haha!

Wound up finding a barrel pick Weller 107 at a package store that I haven't been in before. They had two, but since I've never had it I just got the one. Not a steal, but I also didn't get ripped off, $74 tax and all.

Also found an EH Taylor Small Batch, but haven't gotten into it yet. Went to get the other bottle of Stagg Jr. I left on a previous trip, and it was gone. Should have known better.

After putting the funnel away and having a little Eagle Rare. I did do a taste test of these. Nothing fancy. Feel better MKW ?
All were good and between 110-120 proof.
Anyone care to guess how I rated them?

    I'd go:

    Russel's Reserve Single Barrel
    OGD 114
    Knob Creek Single Barrel
Wild Turkey Rare Breed (As much as I like 101 for the value and Kentucky Spirit for the quality, I really didn't care for Rare Breed)

    I would rate those:

    Russell's Reserve
    Rare Breed
    Knob Creek
    OGD 114

(I have never had the OGD 114, but have had the others)

I'm in western Washington snowed in, so I pulled out some of the fancies:

I usually have bottles of Four Roses Single Barrel and Woodford Reserve around for company, and the Costco bourbon when it's just myself.

It'd be much more tempting for me at $75. I can send the wife to the liquor store in Jersey where she works, however I hate making my alcohol obsession a hassle for her :D

What part of Washington? I have family in Everett and an old buddy who lives in ?Kirkland? that have been posting snow pictures online and they've got like 6 inches that has apparently totally paralyzed the area.

If I went on taste alone it would be.
    Wild Turkey Rare Breed
    OGD 114
    Knob Creek Single Barrel
    Russel's Reserve Single Barrel

OGD and Knob Creek Tied for 2nd. And you'd think being I like Rare Breed best that I would like Russel's better being they're both by Jimmy Russel.
    But I don't.
    That's just my opinion.

If we factor in the cost.... OGD 114 being about half the price of the others at around $27
Then I would have to give OGD 114 it 1st Place.
I can honestly say I have never had a better Bourbon for under $30.

I'm in the Tacoma area. We got 8 inches with the last wave and our power has gone out twice. We are supposed to get another 6-10 inches tonight (already snowing heavily) and at some point it is supposed to change to freezing rain.

I've lived in places that get this amount of snow regularly, and unfortunately western Washington just isn't equipped to handle it. Our power lines are above ground, we don't have snow plows or road crews, and most of our trees haven't held a significant snow load in years. All of the snow piling up on dead branches brings them crashing down onto power lines, and the electric company has trouble making it out to fix it. It's like whack-a-mole trying to find the next branch that will fall. So, whiskey.

Yeah, my buddy grew up around here and he said that navigating the roads is impossible, not because of the snow itself (because he knows how to drive in the snow) but because there's lines and limbs down pretty much everywhere.
