Thanks Tetten, this is helpful. It feels like it is pulling right, but it still drove okay on the freeway home.

Whatever happens here....get some real bumpers.
No offense meant here, but if you wheel like you have on that day,it just makes sense. If you get the insurance to pay for the bumper...which the deductible is yours since theres nobody to blame it on, average deductible is 500 to 1k.With that in mind their will be an increase in rates highly likely over the next few years(they get their money back in time..citing your most recent claims as the cause).
You could spend the same money and just install a new rear bumper. Id rather keep the claim off my record and spend what would be deductible money on a new rear bumper. Then of course you have the light to consider as an added expense. On the flipside...youve been giving those bastards money for a bit and thats a great way to get it back.

I paid 260 month for full coverage(million dollar policy, for contracts I had to have my levels high). That is basically a second truck payment. My policy didnt cover damage done off of any roads that werent maintained by some sort of municipality, with the exception of : thru the course of business related to the policy. You may want to think on your presentation should you choose insurance as a way to mitigate the cost of the damage.

Sorry for your losses man thats always a dissappointing feeling to have your new toys giving you problems. Id get an estimate from toyota before talking to insurance.

One of the first things I see is the rear bumper where some of the sensors are located is jacked up. Good chance that has all the systems in a panic. I have seen similar messages when mine ice up with dirt and road grime in a snow storm. But if they are torn out or the wires damaged I am certain you will get a crap ton of dash warnings. Just my thought on the matter.

Thanks guys for all the help so far. Turns out the alignment was off on the front and Toyota is saying they can't get rid of all the messages until I replace the sensors, bumper, cap, etc for ~$4,000. The alignment was $140, but $4,000 for some plastic housing for the sensors, wires, bumper cap? You guys think I should take it to a body shop and see if they can fix it for cheaper? Any body shop suggestions? I'll attach the estimate when I get it.

I think at 4k couldn't I just replace the bumper with a new HC bumper that supports bsm and get new bsm sensors and install somewhere else? Then take it back to the dealer and have them recalibrate everything.

If you are going to off road that truck.... you are just going to have to live without those sensors. Most of the steel or aluminum bumpers dont work with blindspot sensors... I think there is 1 or 2 and they are not high clearance....
What other sensors are out of whack.... bsmt, backup/parking sensors. What else?

Wow that’s crazy but actually I thought it would be more too but I’m guessing that didn’t include the body damage to the bed?. Spend the afternoon bybgoing to your local collision repair centers and get quotes. Youll be surprised how much they may differ. It’s a competitive business and companies are always looking to beat out the next guy just make sure to go with a reputable company that stands by their work. And if you end seeing it is going to cost several grand nonetheless, get it done right and use your insurance.

Electronics are insane for cars, just to recalibrate a BSM sensor is nearly $600. Replacing and recalibration the entire system is much more as you saw already. Then body work is a whole other animal.

None of the well known, well built HC bumpers support BSM, I’ve been waiting for one to be released for a while. Calibrating alone is $600 :/

The dealer says they can't recalibrate anything without replacing those sensors first and that requires a new bumper, 1-2 bsm sensors. If you separate it out, you could reuse the step, right cap, lights and 3 working bsm sensors, but not sure if they sell it that way?

I would do an alignment first. This will tell you if you have a bent tie rod, damaged wheel, etc. A bad alignment will play havoc on the lane change BS gizmos that the 3rd gen has.

It might be time to get techstream and take a look yourself. I highly doubt that bsm, and parking sensors are keeping all tss from being calibrated.
I have the parking sensors, but I have a button that activates or deactivates. If I turn them on I get a error of course cause the sensors aren't plugged in.
I have a 17 so I do not have the tss package.

I figured it was those sensors being sheared off. Sorry Op, it is the age of sensors and more sensors. I think you will have to bite the bullet and get some new BSM sensors at a minimum. I like the suggestions others have thrown out there about getting the bed fixed, and go with an aftermarket HD rear bumper that can facilitate the BSM sensors. As I stated previously, I have had messages pop up just from them being ice covered etc.

Alignment was done for $118. Looks like everything on the wheels checked out. Now I am just trying to figure out the back damage and bsm sensor issue.

I still don’t buy it’s the sensor. Dealers are lazy and don’t find the route cause but rather replace parts quickly in hope of a fix.

That seems odd because you can turn off the BSM and parking assist and that should take them out of the equation......you'd think.

I tried to do that and it doesn't really do anything. I too wish it was an easy switch of a button to get rid of the errors.

Yeah I took a look at the sensors and it looks like maybe one of the parts had a stripped wire, but nothing that shouldn't be too hard to fix?? 51737909_492020857992076_6202947465742647296_n.jpg

Couldn't it still be a comprehensive claim? I pay all that insurance for my own fault just the same as others. And let's be real it's usually me doing dumb shit when it comes to an actual issue (I am REALLY good at dodging other drivers)... Whereby you pay your deductible and go to a body shop... I feel like that's what USAA would tell me to do...

I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time...
