Took my 2018 Tacoma in for it's first ToyotaCare service two weeks ago and just noticed that the dealership put +1000 miles on my paperwork. Took it in for 5000 mile service at 4659 and the paperwork reads 5659.

It's only at 4840 now so wondering if I should care enough to go back in and make them fix it. Will the service record showing that I took it in past the 5K mile marker hurt me down the road in terms of warranty or anything? (I bought the extended warranty too)

Call me paranoid, but I'm wondering if there was any benefit to them doing this or if it was just a simple mistake.

I wouldn't worry, 5k service is pointless, except for checking that floor mat.
You could also go into Toyotaowners.com and input a note if you feel you need to.

Just make sure they get it right the next time and you'll be fine.

Yeah it was just a tire rotation so I wouldn't sweat it.

You can have them fix it, or leave it. The only time it would ever cause a problem is if a carfax was ran and showed a lower milage after you had that service. It would be flagged as possible ODO fraud.

So, dont bring it in for 1k miles, or have them change it.

Make them change it. If you ever have a warranty claim it will mess you up.

If it were me, I'd have them correct it. I know that everytime I have mine serviced, it shows up on CarFax. You really don't want any ODO discrepancies there.

So it seems. The main reason I came on here today was because I noticed they didn't change the oil. Didn't realize it was only every 10,000 miles.

At least I can rest assured that my floor mats are good to go

Did you mark your tires so you know they were actually rotated? Couple of discreet chalk marks on the inside works wonders for checking up.

Also you might want to recheck your air pressures. Sometimes they are correct, sometimes they hit the max printed on the sidewall. All depends on the brainpower of the minimum wage underling doing your work.

    I didn't but I will next time.

I also got hit with a $5100 repair bill because my air bag light came on right before I took it in and turns out a rodent had chewed through a very expensive wiring harness that had to be replaced because "safety reasons."

Wasn't covered by either warranty but my insurance covered most of it. The insurance negotiated it down to $3700 somehow which made me feel great to know that this dealership was trying to get an extra $1400 out of me only 7 months after I bought it.

The dealership was actually bought out a month after I purchased this truck. Was Tom Scott Toyota and had a great reputation but now is Edmark Toyota. After my first service experience being the week long nightmare that it was, I am very skeptical about them.
