Good Deal?

I am looking for a first truck for my son. I have come across a 99 TRD extracab with 152,000 miles.

I have not yet had the chance to look at it in person but it looks good in pictures. Assuming the frame is in good shape is $8K a good price for this truck. If not what would be>

Is rust a problem in your part of the country?

 

Seems a bit high to me I think you could find a second gen with that many miles for not much more $ off an individual not a stealership..

 

It can be. I am in Soutwest Virginia.

For frame rust, take a ball peen hammer (or any hammer) with you and tap around on the frame. Bring a flashlight too, so you can try and peer through some of the holes in the frame to see inside (frames rust from the inside - out). Points of particular interest are the area by the leaf spring mounts.
