Anyone else develope a seep/leak at front valve cover?

Seems I had a seep since around 70k.
It is where the timing cover and valve cover meet.
Sarted on passenger side and now @ 114k the driver side has started.
I wouldn't call it a leak yet. As there aren't any drips. ...yet....

I noticed the passenger side a few years ago.
I'm not too worried about it currently.
But I am guessing I'll have to do gaskets eventually.

Any one else seen this before?

 

Your year is known for gasket problems. Looks like you may have one.

 

the timing cover is the valve cover.

mine started at 115K miles, give or take. easy fix.

 

Does it require you to take the front timing cover off.
Or just remove valve cove and replace the gasket?

 

After some research:

It looks like you only need to remove the upper intake.
Then install new gaskets.

 

Front of the passenger side valve cover? My 08 has had that for years. Tightened it up a few years ago and it slowly came back. Not worrying unless it's really leaking.

 

Yeah. Mine plus 2 other people I know have leaky valve covers.

Yep, my '06 too! I just cranked the couple of bolts down a bit right there on the pass front corner. I noticed when I purchased @ 122K miles.

Watching to see how it goes.

 

I just had my passenger side valve cover gasket done. The drivers side is still dry. Passenger side was leaking for probably the last 7 years/45K. My mechanic actually told me I'm too particular and could have left it alone, wasn't leaking onto exhaust and didn't show low on the dipstick.

I would watch the driver's side pretty close, the alternator is directly underneath that front corner area, not good to get that wet.

No need to pull timing cover to change valve cover gaskets.
