Staying within the skinny family but just downsizing to get a C-load tire. Just ordered some 17' Method MR702 in Bronze and 255/75r17 BFG KO2.

I just noticed a few new 255/80R-17 tire options. Falken Wild Peat A/T3W and the Toyo Open Country A/T II. The Falken is only 52.5 lbs and is pretty cheap. Nice to see more options in the 255/85 and 255/80 sizes.

Post up some pics when you get them installed if you can. Considering that tire in that size next time.

Just had Wildpeaks put on my 2nd gen. These tires made the ride better - I like the tall skinnys 255/80r17

How’ve they held up? These are my number one choice for 255/85s since they’re the lightest offering atm.

Mine came in today, will be on the truck Wednesday with some new SEMA wheels. I am on ST Maxx right now and have loved them except the weight, picked the Toyos as they are lighter

Now we have the Falken AT3W as another lighter weight option at 52.5lbs.

I almost went with those but I've heard they can cup sometimes. I have had really good luck with Toyos in the past. Really glad to see these coming in tall, skinny, lightweight (relatively ) options, think they are perfect for our little trucks.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you hear that? And was the reported cupping in reference to the AT3w line in general, or specifically the 255/80/17 variety?

Would love to go with the 255/80/17's on my TRD Sport, but thinking 50+ lbs per tire will really cut into mileage. In the 255/75 series the weight is a lot less.

Sisters boyfriend owns/runs a chain of tire shops. I asked him to get a price on the AT3Ws and his response was that he has seen them cup a few times and recommended the Toyos. I think cupping on any tire is most likely due to bad balance (or alignment) and I’ve been really happy with Toyo in the past so I went with those.
