Agreed. Too much of this country I haven't explored. Want to see the London Bridge in Arizona, deserts in Oregon, maybe visit our cousins to the North and drive through British Columbia. Just got to make it to retirement.
Thinking that a camper would be good idea, especially having dogs. Kennels can get darn expensive.

Mark Twain was no doubt bitter because he had a very tragic life. His first born son died at 19 months, his daughter suffered a seizure and drowned in a bathtub, his wife died in his arms.
He definitely had some issues with God and faith, he wrote about it in "Letters From Earth" & "The Mysterious Stranger". Personally I find it crazy when people don't travel at all - that would drive me crazy..

Great Falls seems unaffected right now but it has been super windy across the state. pair that with fresh snow almost everywhere and you get zero visibility. they had to close the MT/ID border yesterday because it was so bad. wreckers and plows will be working double time for a couple of days at least

Been to all 50 States, went around the world first time in 83. Not much left I want to see. Already hate everyone equally. Few places would like to spend some time in and most are North of here. Well and South for the winter months. Kennels ARE expensive and the dog is going with me, looking at a cabin this fall for grouse season and they charge $25 a night for the dog. At that price he can damn well sleep on the bed with me I don't care what their policy is.

Uber just came to pick up the son to take him to his girlfriends. Driver is from overseas don't think he has been here long and pulled his Nissan into the top of the driveway. With tires on it that don't think I'd trust in the summer. You can't get out of my driveway without 4x4 in the winter don't care what your driving. 20 minutes later he is out and now I need a shower from sweating so much. What a shit show that was, now I need to order more ice melt. Kid did shake my hand and thanked me when we finally got his car out, at least he has manners. Calling for only 6 more inches tonight instead of the 9 they said this morning. Joy. Just fucking joy.

    Go. Travel. Its amazing!

That said, theres always room to Tacoma folks wherever we are. Ive lived all up and down the east MI to FL, lots of years on the Gulf coast in several states. Ever since moving west, I'll never move back east. Never. We cant find enough time in every weekend to do all the things we want, see all the places... Retirement -fully, for both of us- will come sooner than later. We're outta here, not stopping until we are too tired to move.

SW Utah is soooo fulll of things to see and do. The mountains out the front door are over 10,000 feet, red rock sandstone mesas out the back door. Even had a dusting of snow last night.

@RickS Malmstrom is one of my fave bases for SpaceA lodging! Need to get back there and explore more.

Ok, so now to post why I dropped by today....

Anyone here, or know anyone, who is into trains? Real, diesel trains? I have several dozen magazines I need to dump or they go to the recycle bin. I also have a couple dozen on Model RR'ing. Just cover shipping. Anyone? Bueller?

Thank you! Thank you for being guys who can cook. I know all y'all can. I say that will all sincerity. I have a couple friends who treat their husbands like they have never seen a spatula before in their lives. One... she goes so far as to make up her hubby meals and freeze them if she has to be away for a few days. All of them. Buys a new box of cereal, jug of milk. Prepared lunches and dinners. WITAF??? I admit to doing 99% of the cooking and grilling around here, but I know my Husband is a damn good cook. From the looks of that loin and Mac, y'all are doing it right!! Keep up the great work!
