Das keyboards are similar but I finally moved away from mechanical tactile feel. I just get logitech wireless keyboards. With backlighting. Sorry not much help on that. My sons like gaming keyboards but I don't know much about those either.

 

If you only knew how true that was about pilots people with HS diplomas fixing what people with college degrees screw up lol

Seriously I know there are a few keyboard warriors in here or spend some serious time on one, most who do develop a preference for tactile feel and feed back from the keyboards they use . I have always favored heavy pressure and distinct actuation like a trigger no not a SJWS trigger a trigger on a gun you can feel when it is about to break and when it resets the sear . Does that make more sense ?

Oh how I hated those things when they came about I can't tell you how many times I would accidentally rest my fingers and type several characters. Though, I don't see the auto correct button on that one I did like that one but that might be it on the lower right can't remember if it had an icon on it or not.

Banged out a lot of enlistment contracts on those things when I was on shore duty. Hated them. That whiteout didn't do much good with 6 copies and carbon paper between each.

I know I like a "normal" keyboard and not that thing on my laptop. It's not all that old and some of the keys have crap under them already and I keep it covered. I also use a mouse and not that stupid square flat finger navigator thingy. I've turned that thing off a hundred times and it keeps resetting. Nothing like typing out a letter or memo and halfway through the cursor jumps halfway up the page...thinking duct tape may be the answer.

 

Check in the settings you should be able to set the sensitivity really high , if your are like me the heal your hand is hitting or resting on it long enough to trigger. I had customer ( accountant) long ago when I had my computer business that swore there was something wrong with the laptop. I never found a thing she told me the cursor would jump to other cells etc. I finally sat there while she did some work and watched her hands yep sure enough she was doing the same thing I cut a couple credit cards to fit over the pad and taped them together she would lay it on it before working . I wanted to adjust the sensitivity but she did use the pad so couldn't.

Even the settings on my touch pad wouldn't work all the time to disable it. Seems like that is common found this freeware to fix it, touchpad blocker

Then we have the 3"+ rain with 100% chance of 2" more... with 40mph+ wind...turning cold enough to snow as the rain ends.

Have you tired turning it off in the computers BIOS? When you first turn on your laptop it will quickly flash press (F2, F12, Del are the most common) to enter BIOS. It can vary from one to another but once in BIOS on the menu you should have an option to turn off the flat finger navigator thingy (touchpad). In my laptop's case it's under the boot options. This should override the operating system (Windows) settings. Don't forget to save the settings before exiting BIOS.
