It is a comprehensive claim. If I go through my insurance, it would be done at Toyota for that ridiculous price of $5,600. If I take it to a body shop it would be a fraction of the price and probably I wouldn't deal with insurance.

Just so this is clear. Most full coverage insurance covers anything offroad as long as it's not a timed event. They don't cover racing
This isn't including commercial vehicle insurance that's a whole different segment

 

The sad thing is here in California, the truck is registered as a commercial vehicle unless it has a permanent shell/ camper shell.

 

really? California is weird. the definition of a commercial vehicle is it's used in a business to make money. everything else is a passenger vehicle

Thats a fact! If I dont close my hitch harness and moisture gets in it throws a false crankshaft sensor error until I dry it out and reset the computer.
Evidently it runs on the same signal line....so some of your errors may not be legit. Great observation!

 

Would you not be able to go through insurance and just take the money, then buy all the parts you want to replace and order a steel bumper? What am I missing? Are you interested in a steel bumper or do you want it fixed to factory spec?
