It was standard equipment on the Pro in 2019, I doubt they would delete it.

Sorry if it was already discussed but since these will have Android and Apple what do you think chances of these head units fitting 2016-2018s will be? I feel like Entune is going to be left in the dark..

Nice upgrades with the tech—not earth-shattering. I am looking to buy in the spring, and so far not seeing anything to make me wait. Plus will likely cost several thousand more than a 2019.

What would I have like to have seen? A diesel or a hybrid.

As far as the other models, they are seriously in need of a style update. I do like the new RAV4, just a little underpowered for my needs, plus no open bed.

I’m not sure why everyone seems so disappointed in this update . To me it shows that Toyota was actually listening to there customers , hell maybe even browsing TW . Even though it’s not a new power plant and a 80 speed transmission it still answered a lot of the complaints I’ve seen on here , especially the seat adjustment and the (supposed) crappy projectors and they do the front camera mod and delete the chrome grille bezel for you .Apple car play has been brought up a few times as well and the keyless passenger side door handle is a no brainer , my wife’s Venza has this and it’s a 2010 lower trim level.

Even in 2019 they started letting the PRO models have moonroofs which is why I didn’t get a PRO when I bought my ‘18

IMO this shows promise that Toyota will actually give the people what they want when the 4th gen comes around

I agree, I would grade them a B+ because they improved on most of the things that people were complaining about. If they would have added read disc brakes I would have given them an A.

I like the refresh enough i cancelled my 2019 order

    For the PROs
New forged PRO wheels 4lbs lighter and more aggressive goodyear tires
    Panoramic camera
    LED/DRL
    Power seat
Informant system with apple car play/android auto

Might be other small things but all these updates are pretty big money items, and panoramic possibly cant be added to older models

Yeah I think a B+ is fair , and I agree with the disc brakes . I think it came down to money , it would cost a lot to retool everything for more extensive changes especially considering this is only going into the 4th year of the current generation.

Look at how long the current 4Runner and Sequoia have gone mostly unchanged. Changing anything on the tacoma is a miracle and major shift in Toyota’s usual trend.

The last innovative thing Toyota did as body on frame vehicles is when the 2nd generation Tundra came out , class leading power and cab room , overbuilt parts and roll down back glass and adjustable headlights a 6 speed transmission when a lot were still running 5 speeds. I think Toyota wants to be bold but the recession had hit and they rode it out with what they already had designed.

My predictions for the future of toyota is they will phase out the 4Runner and sequoia and bring a new Tahoe/suburban sized vehicle to the market as most manufactures with full size SUV’s have done like GM’s above mentioned and Ford’s Expedition .

Maybe bring a new smaller body on frame SUV with possible solid front axle configuration to fight the wrangler . Even though the FJ cruiser watered the name down A new FJ could do well done right .

Keep the tacoma a IFS Vehicle for the desert guys and daily drive ability , add disc brakes and a higher speed transmission along with whatever everyone else is doing to stay competitive.

Expand and build on the PRO name raising it to the same level of performance as a Ford raptor and jeep rubicon (maybe bring back rock warrior or trail teams moniker) depending on application .

And make the next tundra closer to the the Nissan Titan XD /Chevy high country but not call it a heavy half.

I wonder if the MT still gets no push to start and keyless entry. I mean there's no JBL so why should there be anything else. Assholes

In my opinion the reason there is still a key in the manual is for proper use of the clutch cancel switch.
