Also, inkbird was holding right around 207 with pit temp at 224-226... Gonna need to test that further.

    Still eyeing that one...

Put it within 2 inches for that reason. 15* doesn't seem too bad. Both were real stable though which was awesome

Thank you very much for the offer, but I don’t want to take advantage. Let’s hold out for a permanent solution!

I’ve still got plenty of spicy, so all I have to do is not feed my kid and there will be plenty of Pitfaced!

You haven’t got paid yet? I did this morning, but worked and got paid through the shutdown.

We were paid, and my next paycheck has been promised for Friday, but I’m not paying nonessential bills right now because I don’t know when the next one will come. It’s all about prioritization: I can take my daughter out of preschool, but I can’t not pay the gas bill in the winter. Toyota Financial was great about giving me two extra months on the truck payment, but the mortgage company told me ‘fuck you, pay me’ or words to that effect. I have lots of meat in the freezer, but the Pitfaced supply has been savagely reduced to only 2 bags of Spicy. So the money in the bank is staying there and I’m not spending on things that aren’t urgently needed or high priority.

I’m active duty, so I work no matter what. Line in the sand or whatever our recruiting slogan is these days. But I do tire of this political fuckery, and whatever a person’s political values may be, fuckery it most certainly is.

I didn’t think the DOD was involved with this. I hope your check hits the account as promised. I just don't get why you arent being paid since its over.

Sounds good. And it isn't considered 'taking advantage' at all. ;)

Fingers crossed it all gets worked out this week!

Thanks a bunch for your service. I won't derail the BBQ thread too much, but it especially sucks that folks like you have to feel the squeeze.

I wondered about this too. Didn't know how the CG was impacted with them falling up under the Department of Homeland Security.

That changes it, someone mentioned they weren’t getting paid. If he’s CG, that helps explain it.

Yep. DoD was funded. DHS was not.

Oh, for sure. I don't know the details of the backpay and all of that, but you're right that they are funded now. Hopefully we'll avoid another round this week.

Must be back around 90 was the first time heard of the Federal shutdown. Wasn't long after was in a combat zone and tax free, they froze the military pay that year. They couldn't agree on anything but in the middle of the night gave themselves the largest pay hike in history, now that they could agree on. But we didn't get anything. Not to be political, as I hate all of them.

This reminds me I need to order some more pitfaced I am out!!

Week ago Sunday cleared the deck of all snow and smoked ribs. Sunday night cleared the gasser and did brat patties, dogs and steak.

9 more hours to go before it stops. An exercise in futility.

I'll be pulling one of your moves this evening, @Cold Iron . Over a foot of snow here in Bellingham, WA in the past two days but I've got some chicken thighs marinating in the fridge right now and I am determined to grill them tonight!

It's only about 28* over here though. I'm not sure if I'd be grilling in the ridiculously cold weather that you get in your neck of the woods.

Wouldn’t bother clearing it. Just heard there’s more in the way. Time to break out the 14HP blower.
