Waiting patiently on my ARE evolve, it's gonna be a long 4 weeks. Vented windoors, folding sliding front window, and roof tracks. About 2800 out the door. Pics to come!

Sounds sweet, I'd like to add a windoor or two to my rebel since it has the rest including roof reinfocement. A real handy option is some O-track inside opposite the roof tracks.

Makes a lot more sense if you have the windoors for access.

Right now I have 1" webbing attached to them. May change them over.

Neat thing is you can use the O-track to quick release the webbing and still have plenty of extra open spots.

Does your shell have the reinforced roof?

Are the bolts for the roof tracks through the reinforced section?

I want to add tracks but looks like the bolts would have to go through reinforced section

No, I don't think so. Looking at the inside of the cap, the bolts are just outside of the thicker section of the roof.

They're supposed to I think. It pushes the trackes further in than the ditch channels but that's what it is. As far as I'm concerned that's a no brainer. When I installed the Rhino ditch tracks I laid out the holes to drill through the thickest spots(most layers of roof sheet metal, 4 or more including the center cross brace). The ditch channels are the strongest part of the cab roof. They're there to make the roof arch stronger which is critical on AC's.

Just be sure to use oversized washers(fender washers) to spread the squeeze on the honeycomb which is more compressible than the exterior shell.

Yeah I’m not too sure. Might call the manufacturer. Most people I have talked to have said NOT to go through it. Most pictures I see here the tracks are not through the reinforced section. To me I would think they should go through the section. My reinforced section is pretty wide so I think I have to go through it anyways.

Used truck so not sure whether Campways or owner installed but mine are ~3" in from the edge of the honeycomb. Avoiding that would put them right at the curve of the roof or edge of honeycomb either of which seems iffy. When I add the O-track I'll inspect and reseal but It should add sufficient load spreading.

My tracks are bolted through the reinforced section of the Snugtop. The original owner made sure of it when he bought it new because he hauled kayaks on top of it for years.

I have heard it is not a good idea to bolt through the honeycomb because it can flex and cause cracks. apparently there’s foam in there as well

Probably be best to contact Leer, ARE, Snugtop, ect and ask them directly on the matter. I've always wondered about it too but my Snugtop, aside from a few scratches is mint.
