I just got back from having my 13" installed and it sounds wicked!

The only thing I am a little disappointed in is the fact that when you are off the gas it is quiet as hell. It almost sounds like I turned the truck off and am coasting. When on the gas it rocks!

Andrew, indeed the tip is 13" long and I am looking at having the stock pipe trimmed so that the slanted tip will be flush with the side panel. The WF 302 is resonated.

The guy in the muffler shop quoted me $ 100 to have it installed. I told him for the muffler he charged me $60 and for the tip he wants $ 100? At first I was :(, then I was  but I . They said that they have to re-do the pipe after the bend. Now guys tell me is that reasonable?

No idea man. I don't know much about exhaust tips.

I kind of like it. It think it would get annoying always having to hear the deep tone. I'd like for it to be there when I want it there, and not when I don't want to hear it.

Its a shame that WF doesn't have an 11" tip. Would make this mod of yours a whole lot cheaper!

    Wtf? that's very unreasonable brother.

just cut some tip off your stock pipe and let the new tip make up for what you trimmed off lol

Its 11" long AFTER the bend in the stock pipe. So he could cut off 11" to the bend if he wanted to, mount the new 13" tip, and it would still be another 2" out further than where the stock tip ended. So trimming a bit of the pipe after the bend wouldn't change anything. Would have to be before the bend, or just redoing the bend to get it flush.

I still think that is a lot of money.

I will look for another muffler shop around my area.

Guys I was thinking, if the trimming wont be enough to make it flush, maybe I could have the shop move the pipe so it will point at an angle towards the back? I am sure you have seen this set up before. I will keep you updated.

Probably I may take videos with the tip installed and hear if there are changes.

hmmmm. Why not just have them chop it before the bend, put the WF tip on going straight to the rear?

yea you could do the straight back type of thing. but if you really want it to the side i'd do it. i'd check stores like autozone for piping and see if you could fab somethin up

So I had the GF get in the truck and rev the engine in the parking lot of the mall. I was about 100ft away and started walking towards the truck and man did it sound awesome!!

She said she was feeling the truck shake when she was really on it. So I am going to check it out tomorrow at work. Maybe not enough hangers securing the exhaust piping which is causing it to shake or something at high rpms??? Will take to the muffler shop on Sunday if they are open.

I know tis said that these don't have a break in period or whatever but when I was driving into work today it sure sounded a lot better. More "throaty". Sounded mean as hell, especially for being a v6.

Lazaro - Get that tip mounted yet? You could just give it to me and I'll give you a review on it!!! :p I got nothing but time!

Not yet, Maybe this coming week? :D I got to find a reasonable shop to do it.

The sound gets better in time. It becomes deeper and mellow. Other guys noticed it too. I think Blue has commented that it indeed becomes better sounding in time.

Yeah I just didn't know what was up because Bear River said that their was no break in period for these. It'd make more sense that they would have one than not having one.

Yeah, neither mine nor my brothers mufflers ever went through a "break in" where they got louder, at least not that we noticed. My buddies Jeep has one too, and his sounds like it was new, he put it on close to 4 years ago. But if you guys noticed it getting louder and you like it, great. It probably won't get any louder than that initial break in that you are describing.

No two vehicles are alike, and actually, each muffler could be slightly different, so I guess I should not take my personal experience and apply it across the board.

Now that I have had mine a couple of days I like that it is quiet off the gas. I love the sound and the fact that it is there but not loud until you want it to be.
