A plan B would be a good idea. As fun as driving that far and not being able to get anywhere is, it might be a good idea to have that Plan B that can include riding.

Certainly seems like we could get some snow that morning. The previous days leading up to it though should be eliminating past snow. I know of a group that went up a couple weekends ago and mini moab looked fine. Since then it really hasn't snowed much.

    Still, a Plan B isn't a bad idea.

What about a Switzerland Trail with camping at the end?

WeatherChannel.com says 40% chance of snow showers Saturday morning. In most of the world that means 100% of the region has a 40% chance of snow. Of course in Colorado it means 40% of the region has 100% chance of snow. We can make a command decision as late as Saturday morning. Switzerland Trail, west of Boulder is pretty far for the Springs crew.

Yeah I forgot there were Springs guys in the circle this week.

I just still have a hankering for camping.

Speaking of Switzerland, I just looked it up to see if there were any recent trail reviews and low and behold I saw a truck I recognized on it. Some guy named @Winkle99

I run my CO weather like this, if they casually call for some snow= We will get much more than expected. If they use some fancy word (SnowMaGeddon, etc)& act like world will end- it will be just Light furies. :D

Anyone going out on Monday, Feb. 18th if they have presidents day off?

A couple of us guys were thinking about Penrose (Independence Trail System) or heading out to Buena Vista to hit Carnage and then take on the Chinaman's Gulch trail (what more people on here are set up for).

Just seeing if anyone is bored on a day off. I have seats available in the truck to head down to Penrose if people wanna walk the trail and heckle us little school girls.

I dunno, I usually write off most the snow chances we get here in the springs these days. Everything they predict is usually a dusting. It may look like hell outside, but it never produces much. Woodland park can be a little different, but I will do some investigating. I have a friend that lives up there.

I haven't seen a good snow here since winter 2015 when we got a foot+

Yeah, I figured. Depending on your truck build, Chinaman’s is toltally doable by a Tacoma.

Just an FYI, I never take anyone on a trail that has any question if they can do it. Not how I roll.

    See what I did there?

This is the outlook on Monday the 18th.

    Normally this isn’t a problem, and I’m not a total pusscake....11703F03-F0D9-4688-8CDD-72AD696E8CEE.jpg97B649F5-1E5D-468E-8007-A7DB6F262AE9.jpg

I should have the rest of the roof on, but we may have some cooler temps.

Penrose might be closed with the snow, but for sure BV will be open, but cold.
