My one complaint with my Kershaw is it doesn't seem to want to hold an edge for very long. It's a very durable knife and, when I first sharpen it, it's scary sharp but only for a little while. Then it's just sort of sharp. Takes a good beating though, never managed to chip the edge or break the tip and I'm sure the way I've used it to pry on things is 'outside of manufacturer's recommendations'. The Benchmade I ordered has an alloy that's supposed to hold an edge very, very well.

Original Leatherman multitool is always on my belt. I got it as a birthday present when I turned 16 and I've worn it every day since then. And then for fast access knife work I've got a smallish Buck folder that gets clipped inside my pocket. Takes forever to sharpen but it holds an edge just about forever too

I carry a Leatherman Wingman clipped inside my pocket. It has everything I use regularly and is cheap enough where I wouldn't be too upset if I lost it.

Yeah, you probably have a point. Although I think a couple of them had a similar current job--people like to get into the public sector because of the benefits and work environment, though the pay is less so it's somewhat of a wash.

That'd be about an inch, for an hour. :stirthepot:

I have one of those in my glovebox. I bought it when I had to send the PST back for some warranty work and I didn't want to be without a Leatherman for 6-8 weeks, and then it rode around in the bike until I sold it. Then I got a Rebar for Christmas a couple of years ago, so that one's my 'weekend' Leatherman and the PST is my 'weekday' Leatherman. Plus I've got a spare PST I bought for $5 at a yard sale; that one rides around in the boat

I honestly don't know how I'd go without one, at this point. I use it for at least something pretty much every day.

Leatherman wave is a great multi tool. All stainless, and small and light. Or the surge for a little more heft. All I use. And I use it every day. Even if it’s just cleaning the crud from under my fingernails.

So do you just carry it on your belt or in your pocket? I have my knife clipped on my right pocket and then two phones (work and personal) in my other pocket, wallet in the backpocket. .

I'll have to look into the wave - I almost bought it a few months ago when it was on sale on Amazon so I could keep one in the truck/car.
