Last time I had to remove tint, I used a steamer and it didn’t turn out too bad. Just time consuming.

Does that mean there is cheap 3m ceramic “tiers” too? Are there multiple 3m ceramic lines available and should I ask for something from this brand specifically? I’m still not sure if I want to do the rears so I think 20 will be to much up front for me (rather not have it look darker from the inside) so is there something that is between 20 and 35 that maintains the rear being slightly darker from both outside and inside?

Edit: I was quoted 119 for the 2 front windows with ceramic (shop uses 3m so I assumed it’s from this brand) that’s also removing the old tint up front. They cut the tint digitally if that matters

I don't know if you are dead set on 3M, but I have pinnacle F1 30% on my front windows, and I think it's just right for people who don't want to go too dark. I however, wish it was slightly darker lol.

20 on the sides, 50 on the windshields. Both vehicles have cyrstaline. Tried to post a side imagine with sun coming through so you could see how it matches. Backs have 70 if I remember correct to cut down the heat and match the color to the fronts.

Yep 50 on both the windshields. It’s really not that dark. Ppl say it’s crazy to tint the windshield but you don’t have a choice down here in sc, will get cooked without it.

Same here in Texas. I have llumar air 80 on mine, I was a little worried about using 70%. Now I'm pretty sure that I will go down to at least 70% next time. I have a place here that uses stratos, but they won't tint my windshield in anything under 80, the guy who uses crystalline will though.

Wow, that matches perfect... This is something I wanted to go with since 20% seems a little too dark when trying to match the rear three windows...

    LOL

No shop is going to install a ceramic film for less than $300.

The $99 specials are just a dyed film that will color fade after about 7-8yrs. No to mention they offer very little heat rejection.

Been shopping around. So far one shop (super nice people, good long conversation and very well intelligent on their products). They use Expel Window Film and for their Ceramic series all windows was $280 plus tax and another $30 for the front windshield strip. The other shop uses Solar Gard and for their Ceramic was $325 plus tax then another $30 for the strip. Still going to continue my shipping around.

those are actually pretty good prices. I have some experience with both. Of those 2 I would choose Xpel. their ceramic film is very good and very durable. it is 2mil thick as well. or at least it used to be. I had Xpel on the Subaru I traded for my Tacoma.

.That is 20% over factory 20% on rear, 5% on front doors, windshield is 50%. 20% on front is usually the closest to match factory. In my opinion the value of ceramic depends on your geographical location somewhat. If you live where there is extreme heat it would probably be worth it. I just went with one step below the ceramic and it is lifetime warranty. Still keeps heat down pretty good.
