We have some big news to share - we are now an official RLD Design dealer! If you are not familiar with RLD, they are widely considered in South Africa to be the premium canopy manufacturer in the country. Their designs and features are very unique and far above anything else we've ever seen on the market. The canopies are all TIG welded and 5-axis press bent stainless steel and fully-powdercoated. They offer far superior strength and load capacity (over 325 lbs dynamic load) and are only about 20 lb.s heavier than the Alu-Cab canopies. Oh, did I mention they offer paint-matching?

They offer a full line of platform racks, side cabinets, drawer systems, bed slides, and a complete kitchen system with drop down side table. We are currently taking pre-orders and will have product available to ship by the end of April! Please call or email the shop for more info and for pre-orders.

    Here are some teaser photos:

Or maybe it's the Hilux that looks like ass. Kinda like a 2nd gen tundra, 3rd gen Taco inbred mating. But anyway these caps look interesting. I like how different they look compared to the U.S. caps which all look the same. Any ideas on the price points yet? And what is the approx weight? Got any more pics of them on Tacos?

I have to agree with you on the HiLux.

We are still finishing our prototyping and test fitting for the Tacoma but should have more final photos next month. Weight is about 165 lbs. We are working on keeping pricing around $3,200.

Compared to others toppers on the market, that's a damn fine price point!
    It's not so ugly now!

We are stoked to introduce the first RLD Design canopy for the Gen 3 Tacoma!
Test fitment was absolutely perfect - we are now taking preorders and will have multiple to see at Overland Expo!

Just a few questions, if you don't mind.

    Are these produced by RSI?

Are they Modular, ie. do they ship as a flat pac?

Do they have a positive pressure inlet at the top front of the canopy to help keep the dust out?

Do the door hinges have water resistant seals to prevent dripping?

What is the final price point, and how much is shipping?

    Cheers,

No, they are produced by RLD. We looked at many brands and decided that RLD was far superior in terms of ruggedness and design.

Not sure exactly what you mean by flat pac, sorry. They do not come unassembled if that’s what you mean.

Yes they do have a positive pressure inlet.

Yes there is a dual-later seal fully around each door. And it is on the door edge itself, not around the door opening like some, so that you aren’t dragging gear across it each time you pull things out.

Short bed Tacoma is $3,299.99 and long abed is $3,449.99. Shipping is a flat $200 in the lower 48.

Is this only for gen 3 or also for gen2?
And which colors are we able to choose from?
And the last question...how long is the delivery time?

We have a Gen 2 in the works but won’t have the prototype until June.

Standard colors are black, Gray, and white. All standard with black doors. Although we can do different colors by special order. They are powder coated so we can do any RAL color.

Sorry, one more question, and a request.

    Are the hinges waterproof?

Can we get some pics of the inside, specifically the underside of the top, and attachment methods for the taco rails?

    Cheers,

Not sure what you mean about the hinges. They are outside the seal. But the mounting points are sealed.

Can post more detailed pics on Monday.
