I can always just leave it hidden on my driveway somewhere and you can swing by and grab it when it's convenient

What's up fellas? I'm back in Virginia after going to Charleston for 6 days. First long road trip with the truck and extended interstate driving. On the way down I set the cruise control to 75 and averaged 15 mpg. Ouch. On the way back up I didn't use cruise control and was able to apply enough pressure to the gas to avoid downshifting but maintain speed and averaged 19 mpg. Crazy. Also came back up with a lot more weight than I went down with. On the way down I was in 4th I'd say 50% of the time and at 3300 rpms. I will definitely be getting Ovtune soon... Can't hurt and supposed to help with holding 5th and 6th at highway speeds.

It’s pretty good. As @Truggin said the burgers are pretty massive. @IPNPULZ is right, too. They’re expensive but worth it every now and then. They have all kinds of different and weird toppings, which I like. We can definitely go!

Also, is that a @Halffast555 like sighting?

That would be amazing, just hard to justify the cost.

    Wait, what?!?

There is supposed to be a TSB for this where the dealership can update the ECU to correct the issue. I have OVTune so I never got the TSB. OVTune, in my opinion, was money well spent. Who knew that Toyota would eventually address the shift point issue.

Yeah, it's definitely pricey but it's so aggravating on the interstate for the slightest incline or overpass for a downshift to be necessary. And even then, after clearing it and being back on flat highway, it would still hold 4th gear for a long time.

95 is flat, especially once S of Richmond... No need, imo, to be constantly downshifting and getting 15 mpg at 75 mph.

I have the latest update. I got it after having the truck for a week and noticed a bit of a difference but interstate driving above 70 still sucks. I'll get OVtune soon.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
If you don't wanna spend the $$$ on an OVTune, check out Shift Sense Pro. I love mine. Fixes all of the downshifting issues. https://www.dz-custom-innovations.com/products/shiftsense-pro

I took my 19 in for 5K service at Leesburg dealer and asked about the TSB. They told me they didn't have the codes for the 2019's yet! I highly doubt that's the case. He told me to ask again at the 10K service. I guess I'll try again at 10K.

I supposedly have the TSB (dealer did it a few months back), but honestly doubt anything was done since there really is no perceptible difference in my shift points.

Concur completely, but I doubt I will ever pull the trigger on it because of the cost. Without getting into ridiculous arguments about how much tunes should cost, I personally feel that one is a bit steep. My only comparison is tunes for motorcycles that I have purchased in the past, which usually ran between $150-$250 depending on the bike. Who knows, maybe someday I will reach my breaking point and have extra cash laying around to throw at it.

I think I read somewhere that all Tacomas manufactured after the date of the TSB would already have it? Could be wrong there. Regardless, that sounds like typical stealership BS.

Agree. It's real steep... I have tuned every VW I ever had as well as my 03 F250 and 12 Silverado... I have never paid that much and typically that cost would cover the cost of 2 different vehicles.

Sometimes just adding a subwoofer can make a world of difference. The idea is that you take the base out of the smaller speakers to let them play only the freq range they are designed for, and send that base to the sub. Less distortion this way and more clarity.

I think I will still check it out at some point. You guys ever been to Burger Shack in Chantilly off 50? not to be confused with the subpar shake shack. That place has the best burger around this area that I have experienced.
