Short term anything is doable... long term meh.
I got my paid for Tacoma out of my 18 month sleep deprivation study. Lol

So your wife lives someplace else?
How do you deal with that?
That one might be tough for me.

It is short term-long term. Some times we goto 12 hour days at work and then I get even less sleep. Just at that hustling phase and sleep is the one thing that slacks but like Supra said^, I feel fine without it.

And yea she’s in the navy. I’m in Texas and she’s in Chicago right now.

she’s getting deployed soon tho which sucks but that will clear up a little bit of sleep time lol

Not bitching or crying by the way. I don’t throw it in people’s faces but just some of us are pretty busy/strung out so preworkout can be a key factor in our lives.

But you’re right. If I got a solid 8 hours of sleep a night, I probably wouldn’t take it. One day. One day lol!

The main thing I take preworkout for (placebo in a way) and I stick to very low stimulant. I enjoy more of the 'pump' formulas without caffeine. If I do a scoop of stims it's very mild at 150mg caffeine and a scoop size of like 7g total. Not those crazy 20g scoops my goodness the shit in those... I also don't take the 'blends' I guess those companies are too good to divulge their bull shit.

For pumps - High Volume. I used transparent labs for a quick second there (expensive but breaks down exactly what you get)... and the pumps were sick on that formula. If I pop some stim - I like C4 (yes they kinda have a blend but its of 425mg and 150mg of it is caffeine) I am more against the blends that say "blend" and give no details except a total mg.

Edit: I did just pick up some primeval labs mega pre for stim (1 scoops) which I tried last night. Felt great.

I still brew my own PWO and you can't sway me against it. It's more cost effective per scoop and I know exactly what I am taking with no 'fillers' or BS magic 'complexes'...

    200mg caffeine
    3.75g beta-alanine
    5g creatine

I do about 12 servings at once and add 2 packets of emergen-c for flavor and vitamins. I could do without the caffeine most days but I throw it in for the few days I am sluggish. I also cycle off every 4-5weeks so I don't build up a tolerance

Here’s my gyms PR board. Up to you if you want to be on it or not but it really motivates people. Now the 1k (men) and 500 (women) Club brings it to a whole other level.

There’s talk of cleaning it up and pulling names of people who haven’t gone for a PR in a long time.

My best PR right now is seeing how much food I can eat in a single session.

    Can't read your bench total...

    350 squat
    2?? bench
    435 deadlift

I'm guessing it is more than 215 to get your over 1000...

Also, who made the board and doesn't know the proper order? SBD. It's literally one of the biggest brands in the game.

To those of you who have had knee/leg injuries. How was your recovery like in regards to recouping muscle mass and strength? I recently tore my MCL and recovery has been going smooth, I am able to walk and almost at the stage of being able to run. However, I’ve been an avid gym goer for the last 3 years. I lost quite a bit of muscle mass in my right leg due to it having very minimal mobility for about 2-3 months. Any tips for the gym in regards to recouping muscle mass without having to uneven funky looking legs? My difference between my muscle groups (quads, hamstrings, and calfs) is very noticeable and I’m trying to remedy this before summer:anonymous:

Do what you can, when you can to stay active. Find something that doesn't hurt and do it. I've been nursing a hip tweak for a month. I can't squat heavy without pain so I'm pushing sleds a lot, squatting very light weights, and hammering DL's. I can already tell my shorts are fitting looser on my thighs, but it's better than nothing.

Big fan of GAT PMP stim free. Also use their nitraflex when I’m feeling sluggish and don’t have to get up at 2:45am for work

    I have:
Torn my hamstring tendon (down the center)
and torn my rotator cuff and was 100% inactive for 9 months pre surgery.
I’ve also had some semi reconstructive foot surgery.

    1. Get a good surgeon. Take your time researching surgeons that only do knees, nothing else and have experience working with athletes. If they work for local professional sports teams thats a plus.

    2. Listen to this good surgeon you hire. Talk with them before surgery about what to expect post op and how long you should take to be back to baseline (you preinjury). A good sports surgeon will tell you when to take it easy but will also tell you when you can push harder.

1 and 2 still apply if your MCL does not require surgery. You still want an ortho to guide you.

    3. Get the best PT you can and Do your exercises as if your life depended on it. Where so many people fail is in PT. They get sick of the pain and want to give up. This is usually what leaves people with permanent defeciencies after injury/surgery.
Also go to PT as much as is realistic. It can be very expensive (believe me I know, hundreds a month) but its worth going as much as you need to.
Post shoulder surgery I was in twice a week because only my therapist could stretch me, I couldn’t do it myself. If you need someone there to help you get the hang of therapy or you have to have someone stretching you or assisting you, it is worth the money. Even if its a lot of money. Gotta ask yourself how much getting back to 100% is worth to you.

When I was getting back to things, I didn’t worry about what other people thought of me.
Post rotator cuff I started using 5lb dumbells for all my upper body stuff. I didn’t care if someone next to me thought it was stupid for some 25 year old kid to be messing around with 5lb dumbells. Same with squatting the bar. I was holding back tears a couple times just trying to get the flexibility to hold the bar behind my head. Prolly looked stupid to others.

Do your best, forget the rest.

Follow the guidance of your PT and doc on what you can do. If they say you can do it, push it.

Your priority should be recovery NOT physique or strength goals until you are cleared.
In my opinion it gets your mind focused on the wrong thing.

Good luck with everything. Hopefully you have a speedy recovery.

Very sound advice sir. My lady works in PT. I also have had to go to PT for a partial frozen shoulder. My injury was definitely less severe than PackCon’s but non the less, I know first had how it feels not being able to use a limb properly and having to do very different exercises & routines then those around me in the gym to regain range & strength.

IDK thats basically what PT is for post cuff repair. They throw you in a sling for 8 weeks then they have to treat frozen shoulder lol.
The surgeon treats the tear then the PT treats the frozen shoulder.
