Nope, that place looked shitty enough through the ISR feeds.

But between mountain biking, skiing, and general tomfoolery, it's seen its fair share of use (generally on me).

I live in SoCal and am a field inspector and spend way too much time in my vehicle. Sometimes in the evening I would get stuck on the 710 south (truck wreck) and would not move ... sometimes for an hour. My mind would go to what if the big one hits and the bridges come down and I have to walk home. I have a simple REI day pack with a camelback in it. The day pack contains:

    - First Aid kit (gauzes, tape, bandaids, neosporin, aspirin, imodium, matches, small flashlight, notecards and a pencil, etc ...) in a small dry bag
    - 50' paracord
    - Knife
    - Signal reflector (mirror)
    - 2 Powerbars
    - Reflective blanket (mylar)
    - Foam Splint material
    - tourniquet
    - Clothing shears
    - rain jacket
    - Head lamp
    - Wool cap

In addition to the day pack, I have hiking boots, spare underwear and socks. I could go on forever about how I am outfitting for overlanding, but this is what I have for the city.

PS I traded away all the cities north of the 105 so I would not have to walk through Compton after the sun went down.
