From what I gather, yes. Mat did mention he might at this functionality to his flash manager so we can do it via his software, but this not not confirmed yet

Does this come with the new TSB ECU files as well? So if I dont have the new TSB would I be able to try it with the other tune?

Mat incorporated the key changes found in the TSB with the 1.05 calibration. I was a little confused by your question, although you can't add the TSB calibration on top of other calibrations, as you can only load 1 calibration at a time. So essentially Mat did some reverse engineering and took the good stuff from the TSB calibration and incorporated it with his 1.05 and future tunes.

If that were actually the case, the truck is not just looking at the wheel sensors for data WRT speed.

Ex: Truck is in 5th gear at "XXXX" rpm. Stock, this equals y mph. Shut er down.

Gears don't affect wheel speed sensors in the hubs. Only wheel/tire size does.

I run 4.88's in my AT and have never hit the rev limit - even towing my camper over 11,500 ft pass. Using S mode and limiting to 5th gear top and still never hit rev limit. Not saying it is not possible - but something I've not experienced. Even on highway in D mode 6th gear 80 mph plus and no rev limit issue.

And 5.29’s are only 130-150ish RPM higher at highway speed.

    Got it.
How would one tell if 85 or bad gas made it in? Misfires? Knock?
I'll keep a bottle of octane booster around incase of an oops but how would you tell of the station messed up

I see you're in Utah, believe that 85 on the 87 tune is OK if you're at altitude. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

[QUOTE="It still did the typical downshift and scream up to 4-4500rpms when passing. [/QUOTE]

This engine only makes power at high RPM's. No reasonable way to change that. It was just a bit of a poor choice for a truck engine. If you eventually get the shift lock and try to pass without shifting down and revving into the power band I suspect you will find that it won't accelerate or very slowly accelerate.

Perhaps the new rev can be 1.06 and it can go from:
2016+ Toyota Tacoma V6 ECU Tuning Alpha Release
    to a new thread

2016+ Toyota Tacoma V6 ECU Tuning 1.06 Release

    soon :boink:

I guess my question is, lets say I want to flash back from 1.05 to stock tune, would it have the TSB tune file or pre TSB tune file?

I don't understand much about vehicles, but this doesn't sound good for my situation... I was *really* hoping gear lock would be the silver bullet. I tried to haul a trailer last month, and was incredibly disappointed in the truck's behavior. I was within payload parameters, but I was stuck in 4th at around 4,500 RPM at least 70-80% of the trip, just to be *CLOSE* to the speed limit. Mountainous terrain definitely had something to do with it, after what you've said. The terrible performance coupled with bad weather and road closures made me turn back less than 300 miles into a 900+ mile drive. I am not at all saying it's OVTunes fault, I rest all the blame square on Toyota. Is there anything a "Towing Tune" or something could do? I hate to put any more money into this thing, but would a re-gear help? I'd like to maintain as much MPG as I can, but if I have to sacrifice some to make this truck half-ass useful, then it is what it is. Or will I forever be crippled by the engineering of this POS truck? And I know, I know, "clean your dash".

The manual does say to use S4 and ECT when towing. You won't hurt anything.

ECT is specifically made for towing in case anyone didn’t know that. Similar to Overdrive in a full size

I flashed to 1.05 - 91 from stock this afternoon. Initial drive around the block and speeds up to 55 proved to not be as awe inspiring as I had hoped. Seemed to be a little more grunt off dead stop and carry into the following gears. I will get some interstate time on friday.. thats where I hope the tune will make the biggest difference.

The current version everyone has is the MPG oriented version. When FM is out it has the performance maps for people who want best response and power.

Whatever calibration id you send Mat after reading your ECU is what stock tune you will have. So whatever TSBs you have will still be there, any you don't have won't.
