Just because you don’t go on the trips i go on doesn’t mean im not taking trips. I was camping last weekend ive been focusing more on family than wheeling and camping trips. Id rather enjoy family camping sometimes

This is starting to feel real. I also picked up 1/4”x6”x5’ plate steel to make my extension plate for the dclb. I’ve been working on spraying all necessary bolts with pb blaster.

Here’s the shitty part. I leave Tuesday for a week in Colorado, and I want to send my 3rd member back to ecgs to get an air seal replaced (figure while I’m away, won’t need the truck anyway, less downtime) so I want to try to install the new fuel tank this weekend after I pull the 3rd member out. I’m also working 3-11 everyday.

    We’ll see how this goes...

Aspen Snowmass actually. Been looking at it from crested butte for long enough. Figured it’s time I see the maroon bells from the other side lol.

Fancy! I think Maroon Bells road is closed for the season, but there might be a hike or cross-country ski or some other trail you can take to get there.

Nah just look at them from the top of the mountain. Looks like a lot of snow in the forecast.

I've been busy. My son was born on Christmas, so he's been keeping us occupied. Then my wife got a new job at the hospital where my son was born, so we're also packing our things and preparing to move next month.

Thanks! We will be moving to Longmont and closer to friends and family. The in-laws are thrilled because our house will be about 2 minutes away from theirs. After we sell our current home we will be looking for something closer to my wife's work, otherwise she needs to stay overnight at the hospital if she's on-call and has patients.

Yep. Oscar Blues also has a couple restaurants and a distribution center there too.

Getting the bed off was a real pain in the ass. Ended up having a coworker swing by with the bucket truck to lift it off.

I also pulled the 3rd member to send to ecgs to replace an air seal. That ultra grey rtv was really holding it tight.

Got the new tank in today. Poured 3 gallons into it and let the truck run for a little while. All seems good so far. Going to double check all the connections and bolts tomorrow and then put the bed back on.

Sucks only being able to work on it before work at 3:00.. work always ruins everything.. :p

Had a bolt break while trying to remove the old tank. Rear driver side strap bolt. Had to cut the box open and remove the bolt with vise grips, then welded the box back together.

Ok so the tank is in and it has officially been filled. No burping issues. Took 29.6 gallons.

Rear diff took longer than expected to get back home, but it’s reinstalled (honestly haven’t tested the locker to see if it’s holding air now).

My old fox 2.0 remote resi shocks are back from down south motor sports. I saved $100 compared to buying new ones, between shipping and rebuild and replacing a shaft. I taped them off and hit them with a nice coat of fresh black paint. Can’t even tell how corroded they were lol!

Plan for tomorrow is to mount the shocks and weld on the ruff stuff resi mounts.

Ive also been working on a 4x innovations latch for my swingout. There was no way to use it the way it came, but after some modifications, it’s getting there.

Thanks. My CBI rear bumper has a big hand screw to hold the swing out closed. I’ve never been a fan of it, so now 6 years after buying the bumper, I’m finally doing something about it.

I swapped out my rear shocks today and welded on the ruff stuff resi mounts. Didn’t take any pictures during the process, but here is the finished product. ED14F767-363E-4170-A861-9822AC7FF32D.jpg

I’ve always thought they looked a lot more professional than the clamps and self tapping screws that came with my shocks originally. For anyone that can weld halfway decently, I think they’re great.
