Camper shell question for Austin/Round Rock TX

I just bought my 1st Tacoma (2019 4 door short bed) and will be purchasing a camper shell specifically to transport my mountain bike. After searching the forums and seeing different height measurements, it should work but is going to be a tight fit. Before I spend $3000 on a shell, I would really like to put my bike in a truck/camper to make sure it fits. Anyone willing to let me throw my bike in their truck?

I'm specifically looking at the snugtop GB sport or similar cab height shell. I prefer the looks of the cab height but if that doesn't work, the mid rise will be the winner. Thanks!

 

Short bed, GB sport here. No problems putting my medium frame MTB inside the shell with front wheel removed. My seat height is a little lower than others, so you might have to resort to quick release seat tube clamp or dropper if you are tall.

Edit: I also blacked out my side windows and jerry rigged a curtain on the rear to keep prying eyes away when parked.

I can give you the inside dimensions of my shell for comparison.

Dimensions would be great. I called snugtop and they gave me an entry way measurement from base of camper to top lip of 10 3/4" and inside of camper of 12 1/2" to roof. These are measurements of the camper shell off of the truck. So when I add those to the 19" bed height, I get 29 3/4" entrance, then once inside bed, a floor to roof height of 31.5". These measurements seem inaccurate compared to others on this forum. I've seen a snugtop rebel with 37"height so I'm hoping that once mounted on the truck, the GB sport clearance would be comparable.

My bike is a large 29er trail bike so depending on how I mount it to a board, I will need a minumum of 34 inches.... Ideally 36"

Inside entry height (off to one side) = 30.5 inches. Inside shell height (off to one side) = 36.5 inches. I have the OEM bed mat installed. It adds .25 inches measured at a raised area of the mat to the height of the bed.

Inside length as measured from where your back tire will make contact (shell mount) to inside of tailgate = 58.5 inches.

Thanks for the info. How do you like the GB sport? The dimensions you gave makes me pretty confident that my bike will fit.

This is how my dealer installed the wiring for the overhead light and USB power. Another member had theirs run along the bed rail. You can tell the dealer which you prefer.

Really like mine so far. Blends in wherever I decide to boondock.

Doesn't have massive side windows to leak. Has the tiny louver windows so I can pop it open to air it out while driving or run electrical extensions at campgrounds. Only minor dribble in heavy rainstorms while driving at the tailgate corners. Not enough for my lazy ass to rectify.

I have the fold down front window for easy cleaning of my truck cab windows. Have the roof rack rails for a future RTT. However, kicking myself for not upgrading to sportsman's model where supposedly holds more weight. Will have to distribute between shell and cab roof.
