If you don't have to have yellow trim, I think red would look good.

I tried painting my badges and it didn't work out so I pitched them.

You do it yourself? I am going to take the dealership badge off. Thought I’d practice with that. I watched a video. Is it as easy as it looks? The guy that is painting my wheels, grill, & Tacoma on the tailgate said he would not paint my badges so I did get the overlays. Just curious, what happened when you painted them?

My Taco is an exact twin of yours! I really like changing out the chrome bezel for the SR black one. I've got a decal to blackout the T in the middle of the grille to install. We'll see if it interferes with the TSS.

I think it was too humid when I painted them
They never really dried and I got pissed and threw them out. The badges come off easy. Use fairly strong fishing line in a sawing motion behind the badges. Works better on a warm day. I used a hair dryer to warm mine up first. Then clean up residue with Goo Gone.

How well the Goo Gone take off the adhesive or did you need to repeat

I applied the Goo Gone, let it sit 2-3 minutes and wiped it off with a microfiber towel. You have to apply some pressure but it's not bad. Really takes no time at all.

Good to know! I was concerned if the overlays would stay on thru washes, crazy Illinois weather etc. If they don’t, removing them totally will be my plan B.

I know it will take off the sticky adhesive of course, but the part that always concerns me is if the Goo Gone would start dissolving/taking off the clear coat? Is it safe to use on auto paint?

In my experience it will. So be careful and don’t let it sit for more then a few seconds. I saw someone give a bare metal looking finish to a truck because they let it sit for a few minutes.

Looked like the Delorean from back to the future

I had no problems with Goo Gone but I did read that you would not want to use Goo Off.

Maybe that’s what it was. Either way the damage was bad so I’d just be careful. Look and see if the label warns against using on automotive paint.

Sometimes I wonder if photos of your truck are like photos of your pets... you’re really the only one who likes to see them

New wheels and tires. I can successfully say 255/80/17 + 4Runner wheels will fit a ‘19 OR with stock suspension.
