In my truck with 1.05, I also have a bit of that '2 stroke dirt bike feel' with the 87 version. With the 93 tune, there's none of that. Smooth and powerful with no noticeable surge when it hits the mid-high rpms. In fact, I couldn't believe it was the same powertrain when I was running the 93 tune. I really wish premium wasn't so #$%^ expensive around here, because the driving experience is so much nicer on the high octane tune.

My truck on stock 245 tires and stock 3.81s hit the speed limiter at 114mph. I think that was 4th gear.

I would be amazed to see the ecu limit top speed off rpm vrs the wheel abs sensor data.

Ive hit 118mph but prob not accurate, 265/70/17

Edit - but then ive had it bounce the rev limiter at 105mph one time... This Tacomas ECU is really stupid...

Hope you guys have tires rated for those speeds. A blowout over 100mph ain’t going to be fun

Can I keep the MPG oriented one if I install it once the FM comes out?

Soooo are the dyno numbers on the original posts with the MPG tune or performance tune? (Assuming performance???) Also what is the projected MPG loss with the performance tune?

Do you happen to know how difficult it is to switch between the versions?

As difficult as flashing your truck.

Once youve done it a few times, you can usually flash the truck while you are filling gas. Ive done it a bunch just right there at the pump

Won't the dyno numbers in the first post be completely outdated since the tune was completely rewritten for 1.05?

Actually, it makes perfect sense. 3.909 to 5.28 gearing is a 35% shift. 80*1.35=108

So since this is a mileage tune currently what are you guys that are running the 91 and 93 tunes seeing for mileage?

I used a calculator just to see what kind of mileage increase would be necessary to justify running premium and even out at the pump.

    Turns out it's not much.
If I get a 2.3 mpg increase it becomes a wash on fuel costs.

I was getting 20 avg but I'm stock SR5.i recently switched to the 91 tune but no noticable mpg improvement after 300+ miles. Going back to some 93 goodness when the FM release comes.
