I’ve quietly drifted away from friends for a lot of reasons, some even for no reason other than we just slowly drift away. If we just don’t share the same interests, its usually mutual, we hang out less and less, and the friendship just sort of ends on its own. If there’s a good reason I don’t want to be around them, I’m usually not shy about telling them. I’ve told friends straight out that something has changed, and give them the reason, and we shoudn’t hang out anymore. That hasn’t happened a lot and usually an extreme case and only used when I want to make it perfectly clear that we are no longer friends and I don’t want to even be associated with them anymore.

 

Getting to a MUCH needed beer tonight. Been a long day.

Friday for me. No drinking on a school night......

Hell, I usually do that by myself as well.

 

I didn't plan on drinking tonight, but...
- Got stuck doing someone else's job at work
- Discovered someone messed with my gas tank
- RI delayed my tax return for some silly form
- Almost got into a fight while picking up my kids at school
- My kids have been bickering all night
- People can't drive

 

There is a book series by Brandon Sanderson, The Stormlight Archive. In it is a group called "Bridge 4" after the bridge they carry for the army. The main character of the book (or one of them) is part of this group. Surprised but not surprised their is clothing for it. Series is only a couple books in but one of the best out there IMO, author has a good history of finishing series well, so looking forward to the rest, I think there will be 7-12 in the end, I forget which one.

 

That post got quite a bit of attention. I appreciate all of your answers, and I decided the other day that i didn’t care to continue the effort. I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t try super hard to make friends. I keep in touch with those that matter, and the rest I really could care less about. Just funny how things change. Sometimes saying F it is good!

I feel ya. Believe me, I was thinking earlier, that a beer would be nice..... just... not drinking on a work night typically.

Gonna have to look into that.

 

It's a fantasy series, but if you like fantasy its top notch.

Left work, check engine light was on. Checked the code, said it might be gas cap loose. Checked and found it undone with snow sitting in the filler neck.

This dude has some sort of issue with me. Keeps trying to start shit. First time I confronted him he wouldn't even look at me. Today he stared me down and flipped me off. I got in his face and asked him what his deal was. Tried to give me some BS and threatened me. I told him to make a move or go F himself. I just walked away after he kept running his mouth.

 

Everyone’s tough till they get punched in the mouth... not that I condone that but it sounds like what he needs
