That’s the first place I hit up due to the recommendation and Yelp review lol. But I will need to shop around more.

Same to you too...lmk if you find a better deal.

I checked all around the peninsula and down in San Jose. Most good shops with quality films wanted around 500 for all doors plus rears for ceramic and 300-400 for good quality carbon. I ended up going carbon locally here in San Bruno for 300 cash. Took my wife’s Outback to him a few weeks later she got the ceramic for 440 as a repeat customer. Both cars turned out great and honestly I can’t tell any difference. Of course it does get super hot here in the Bay Area so heat retention isn’t as important like other living in hot areas.

If you want the shop info I used PM me.

70% 3M is dark? I have SunTek CIR70 on all of my windshields and it is basically clear. no difference driving at night than during the day. I don't use 3M film, so I don't know how "dark" it is compared to SunTek.

you can get them to do it, but it won’t go on the books....you pay cash and get no receipt for the work on the windshield....that protects them....and it is against the law in Ca.....ask me how i know........i paid extra for mine and no paperwork.....

i was commuting to San Jose for 10 years from Irvine for work, and the people in San Jose wanted over $500 to do my Lexus GS350....told them to pound sand and had it done in Temecula for 375 all the way around except for the moon roof

i looked at SunTek 70% and the 3M 70% crystalline seemed to cut down more heat and it is pretty clear.......i can notice it at night though.....

hmm, just curious. mine isn't dark or even close in my opinion. I even tinted my daughter's Jeep the same way and she doesn't even notice it.

try turning lights on at night.....go to a street, pull over and open door and look out.....then get back in and look out....do it a couple of times.....i can tell the difference.....if you cant, are you sure you got 70%?

Edit: when I say dark, I mean i can tell there is tint when i look outside at night....so maybe “dark” is a bad choice of words....its almost clear but cuts down a whole lot of heat and a/c doesn’t run all the time on auto...stays nice and cool at 74

haha, seeing how I installed it I am 100% positive it is 70%. been using this film on my windshields for the last 2 years. It is darker than opening the door and looking into the atmosphere, but I don't find it dark or distractive at night.

like i said, maybe “dark” is the wrong word......lets just say there is a light difference........what is dark to me is not dark to others.......in this case i think we will both agree there is a slight noticable difference between atmosphere and being inside truck, right?....if so, then we are good to go

I’m being quoted 450-500 for full ceramic tint in the Indy area at reputable shops. Everything but windshield. Extra $150 for that.

    Is Llumar ceramic good film?

Debating if if ceramic is with the extra cost. What you guys think? I’m leaning towards doing ceramic, truck is black w/ black leather so will be warm in summer time. Doesn’t bother me that much but want my 2yr old to be comfy.

I paid $500 for full ceramic and that included the windshield. As far as worth, definitely. My moms car has a higher grade carbon I believe, not ceramic for sure. Her tint is 10% darker than mine but you can feel more heat through hers in direct sunlight than mine. Another advantage to ceramic you might not have thought of is you can go a bit lighter and get the same or better heat rejection than carbon.
