So I jumped in the truck real normal like this morning. Started er up and went to back out the driveway.

And bam I stalled out. (3 peddle version by the way) Left the parking brake on doh! Took brake off and went to restart the truck. Nothing. Tried 4-5 more times nothing just crankin.

Hmm give her the old feather the pedal trick with cranking and hey she comes to life. Low idle/stumble for a second and clears up. Drives normal to work. Restarted normal when I got to work.

What gives ? I suppose from stalling out, it got confused ?

Normal truck was debating whether you were competent to drive.

I've had this happen a few times. Sometimes when you stall, it is trying to add fuel to stay running (to prevent you from stalling), but what ends up happening is it floods. You just need to crank it with the gas pedal fully down and it will start back up in short order. No harm done.

Around 30 degrees. Battery seemed to be putting out some good amps. Didn’t seem to be weak if that’s where you were going.

Yeah so here is what happened. When it's cold and you start your truck, it runs really really rich for a bit. Then you killed it right in the middle of that. So now you got tons of fuel, but your ETC (electronic throttle control) is only letting enough air by for a start and idle condition. When you pressed the accelerator, the stepper motor opened the throttle valve, let more air in, the mixture became right and it fired up and burned off the extra fuel.

Thanks for the insight on the problem. That makes sense.

Nah I mean is it’s only happened the one time. If it happens agains I’ll look more into it with the dealer.
