This guy doesn't seem all there. Guy claims I'm stalking him, yet he's been taking the same streets I take half way home when he used to go a completely different way. He used to rev his engine in the parking lot when I was around. At first I thought nothing of it. One day I was behind him leaving the school. He pulls over, waits for me to pass, then comes flying up on my ass nearly rear ending me. The next day is when I tried to confront him. Tried to ignore him after that. Lately, he'll walk by me as close as possible without actually touching me. Then there was today's BS...

Late to the party, but yes, absolutely. A good friend has changed and become someone I'm not really interested in spending time with, which is a shame. The last time we hung out I found myself internally going "really?" waaay to many times, from the bragging about salary, to the posturing about vehicle choices, to comments on parenting. He's still good people at his core, so I'm not going to tell him to piss off, but I haven't gone out of my way to reach out to him either.

Maybe things will change, and I don't know if it's worth closing that door completely, but I'm not really paying much attention to it either.

Sorry to hear that, Jason. Sending positive vibes your way for you and the little one.

I understand that completely. I’ve noticed this person I’m talking about is the type of person who thinks they know everything, but the more they talk, and the more you listen, the
More you realize that they know what they’ve read on the internet but have no first hand knowledge. They are also a follower and seem to be incapable of forming his own opinions or interests lol. I experience the same “really!?” Thoughts

Edit: I do hate when people only talk about money though, I’ve already written off a few other friends for the same reason lol.

Sounds like either something needs to go down, or you need to report him to your local PD for harassment. Cause one way or another sounds like that's gonna have a nasty conclusion. I am all about handling your business...but some people like to sue over anything and the cops are easier to deal with in that regard...I dunno crappy situation and really strange that he is doing that around schools.

I had a friend in H.S. who was like that, but I haven't really run into that much since after college with people. Sure, sometimes money or prices on things gets brought up, but a lot of time its asked about, which is why it's brought up. I've complained about a few things costing a ton of money with our business (code stuff) but I guess I am not trying to brag I had to spend a ton on something, I'm more pissed I had to and want to vent.

Just curious as to what you guys are seeing with this stuff as it appears to be a common problem. Also, want to make sure I'm not being guilty of it if I am bitching about the price on something everyonce and a while...

Ah, money... the root of all....

Only a couple real close friends, my wife, my Dad know what I make(approx).
I also am pretty closed as to what I do, or, specifically where I work.
Wife and I both grew up, with little.
I just feel your earnings, are your business.
Money is as good at alienating people as politics and religion.

There’s a big difference with saying how much something is, or bitching about it vs telling the world what you make or money you have

Yeah we were raised to not talk about any of that, unless close family, and even then my brother hasn't told anyone what he makes since H.S. But as far as what I make or have saved up etc... that's for the wife only...maybe parents.

I never talk salary or anything of the sort with friends and extremely rarely with family even. I'm not uncomfortable talking about it, but it's not my business what they make and none of theirs what I make, just no reason for that to ever be a topic of conversation.

I have made comments at times about things being expensive. The only time I do talk about anything related to money is if I get something new and someone makes a comment like, 'nice but those are expensive', I may respond that I found it for XXX. I do sometimes exhaustively research what I see as expensive purchases so if I find a really good deal, I'm more trying to pass on the tip on where or how to get something for a lot less money that you'd expect.

Morning all! Finished snowing yesterday around 9 or 10, I guess. Ended up with about a foot, but it's hard to tell for sure because of the drifting. Finished cleaning everything up last night and it started flurrying again around 8. Woke up this morning to another 2 inches that needed to be cleared  :frusty:

Yes, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a statement, vs for bragging rights.

We had about a half inch over night. I cleaned snow yesterday morning, a bunch melted, and then more showed up

10 Years corrections officer for state of Maine. earn everything I have, and would'nt have it any other way.

    The Jeep:
Got into jeeps in 2000, bought a 1974 CJ-5 with an AMC 304 V-8, 3 speed, d20, and d44 rear, d30 front.. it was extremely rough, but the frame was solid.. I spent 2 years and the better part of $16k rebuilding it from the ground up... engine wound up being replaced with an AMC 360, the T-case cracked the lower ear off, found another t-case, but this one did not have the holes for the shifter rods from the original t-14 trans., so I found a 1984 T18A ford trans 4 speed with 6.32:1 granny gear. Body was junk, and ir-repairable, wire harness too.. I saved the guages, and got a new fiberglass body, and a painless wiring harness.. rebuilt the exploded D-30 front end.. I wanted to replace the original intake and carb with something a bit newer than an old MC 2100. I ordered a edelbrock performer intake and carb, offroad needle/seat kit.. it looked so good, I had to get rid of the old points ignition system.. in went an HEI distributor from E-bay... I wheeled this setup with a set of mud king radial 32" x 11.5's it did great, and got me places I never thought I could go.. sadly however the jeep had its issues.. AMC v-8 disasterous oiling system. and the cost of upkeep and parts on a non-daily driver made it sit in my yard.. not to mention my wheeling buddy bought a house, got married.. kids happened... And his t350 trans in his 92 YJ died... so my jeep just sat there... unused.. still sitting in my driveway...

    the New ME:
I found the overlanding videos on youtube and thought this would be great for me.. can go solo, or in a group.. just need a capable rig.. I had listed the jeep up for sale.. however it still sits unsold.. the wifes car, a 2007mazda 6 developed some engine trouble.. wound up being bent valves... was a 1800 repair, on a 2400 car... so i gave her my newer 2013 mazda cx-5.. and I found my new ride.. a 2016 tacoma TRD offroad.. she didnt complain, as I take immaculate care of my DD vehicles, i also pay ALL the bills, so she could'nt say no...
