2010 Tacoma door lock failure

My clicker won't open the doors, the key won't open the lock, new batteries in clicker, only beeps when I hit the lock function. The passenger lock won't work electronically at all. Any ideas which parts I need to replace? Thanks

 

So all four doors do not lock electrically or just the passenger door that does not work correctly?

 

Two door access cab. No the clicker does not work on either door. When I hit lock the parking light comes on but not for the unlock.

 

Your details are confusing me, forget about the key fob for now, does the interior lock/unlock button work correctly on both front doors? If so then the system works correctly and the problem lies somewhere between the fob and the vehicle receiver for said fob, If instead the doors do not work correctly with the interior switch AND the key fob to both lock and unlock all doors then you should remove the door panels, unplug the door latch actuator(the door latch solenoid) and see if you have 12V on thecircuit when you try to unlock and -12V when you try to lock, I may very well have it backward and it could be -12V unlock and 12V lock, either way same wires but reverse voltage to make actuator goes the other way.

 

I have a 2014 Tacoma with a similar issue that just started. Using either the fob OR the door lock/unlock switch on the driver's door, the driver's side, rear door lock intermittently unlocks. With a fob, I click it 6-7 times and it finally unlocks. Only the driver's side rear door is affected. I know it could be a loose wire or ground, but if it isn't that, is replacing the door actuator the only solution?

 

Removed the door latch and inspect the wiring at the actuator plug and if the wiring is fine then check voltage at the plug with someone holding the lock switch(not the fob) voltage should switch form positive 12V to negative 12V when you go from lock to unlock(or vice versa), assuming you do see the voltage then go ahead and install a new door lock actuator, i believe someone on the site did a write up on taking the actuator apart, cleaning it and reassembling and reinstalled in into the vehicle, i dont know how long such a repair would last though.
Honesty as a technical I have yet to come across more then 2 issues that were caused by a bad ground and those cases were resulting from one customer adding accessories badly and the other cross-threaded the battery ground cable to frame bolt so it wasnt actually tight. I know DIY magazines and DIY'ers like to harp on a loose ground or having corrosion on the ground but it seems pretty rare assuming you dont live somewhere with rust(no experience there) and its very likely going to cause more then only one component to not work right seeing as most grounds are shared.
